I've been using this product for many years. It's very effective for aches, sprains, strains, sore muscles and such. It does have a higher percentage of camphor & menthol in it, which is what I believe makes it pretty effective for me. Some people don't care for the scent. It doesn't bother me. I usually apply it at night when needed, and my pajama pants cover it, so I don't worry about it transferring onto blankets, besides, it seems to penetrate well enough on it's own, if you take the time to rub it in, like you're supposed to. As far as I'm concerned, Tiger Balm Ultra Strength Sports Rub is the best product for treating sore muscles. All that I have to do is just rub some on, and it does a great job! I can feel the heat almost instantly, and it has a very soothing smell to it. This is the third time that I purchased this product (second time through Amazon). A friend recommended it to me originally, and I managed to find it at a local store. When I ran out of it, I found it on Amazon, and I have been ordering it through Amazon ever since then. I have been using this product for five or six years, and I am always recommending Tiger Balm to people. I haven't even bothered to look for anything else for my occasional muscle aches. I always go for the non-staining version, and I have been very pleased with the results. I usually have to apply it only once, and it does a great job! I have severe, chronic back pain, and nothing I've tried is more than somewhat effective, so I'm not the average reviewer perhaps. I continue going back to this product because it does provide some quick, initial relief and heats up almost immediately. What I don't like is having to put my fingers directly in it because it gets under my nails and I have to wash my hands really well to avoid getting in anywhere near my eyes or on my face. For that reason alone, I've tried multiple other products with non-touch application features, but none work as well. I also feel as though I smell like my grandmother, but the smell and the application process are a trade off for effectiveness. Read more
Tiger balm is great and does not have the chemical smell that other ointments have. It is cooling and soothing. I got the big tin for a reason. I’m always asked at work if I have some, I always do. Smaller ones are great size for your purse or car on the go. It has a strong scent but it is more of a minty cinnamon. Definitely worth trying for sore muscles. Read more
This is the first time I’ve tried this product and I was pleasantly surprised. I get terrible neck pain and migraines (due to the neck pain). I rubbed it on my neck and the first thing you notice is the smell! It’s not an awful smell but it’s strong and almost smells like mint. Then there’s a cooling sensation that feels like there’s an ice pack on my neck. The product left a little bit of a residue on my skin after several hours, but it can be washed off. It helped my neck pain, but not my migraine. Read more
If you experience any muscle strain, over workout pain or ole guy joint inflamation, Tiger Balm is for you. I have never had a product work this good on pain from inflamation or muscle strain. Rub it in and get ready for a hot/cold experience that will make you think you have new knees in the morning. Most soothing and effective topical I have used and there are many. Also works on Fire Ant bites so common here in Florida. Get a bite and dab on Tiger Balm as soon as possible. Takes out the burn almost at once. The bite does not fester into a sore like it does if untreated. This Stuff is one of the best products on the market today. I have praised its uses so ofter that my MD is now using and recommending to other patients. Anyone I have talked into using this product is now a believer in its effectiveness. In my opinion it is one of the items that should be in any first aid kit or medicine cabinet. I don't leave home without it. Read more
