i bought 4 of these, and after reading all the reviews of them rusting, i bought a $5 can of black rustoleum spray paint, and gave them a very fast single coat of paint, i did not prep them or anything, they came out just fine and have not rusted at all after being exposed to the elements and multiple rain storms.. they also hold my tiki's just fine. the metal obviously was not treated properly at the factory this is why they are rusting on everyone.. but its a very simple and quick fix. Does The Job
This was just what I was looking for, as it is impossible to tie, attach etc our tiki torches to our deck. These are a good price, a non-intrusive size and very pretty as well. However … TAKE NOTE!! They start to rust after the FIRST rain and leave rust spots on whatever surface they are sitting on. I bought a can of black Rustoleum and sprayed them on both sides today, so hopefully that will take care of the problem. Personally, I feel the company should have baked a rust preventing paint onto the stands at the factory. All in all, I’m happy with the purchase and would recommend. Read more

The screw to secure the torch doesn't work well.
These look really nice, and sometimes work, but I've had 2 out of 5 purchased that don't secure the torch well. There is a very basic "screw" mechanism that relies on pressure to squeeze the torch shaft against the wall of the receiver hole in the stand. I think the material is soft, so I'm guessing the screw starts to distort the threads under the pressure required to properly hold the torch, and then the torch sortof lists to the side. I tried to fix it by making some extensions out of PVC piping, but even that didn't really work so hot. Anyhow, they look nice, but you might have to buy twice as many as you think to find some that actually work properly. They need to fix the design, to be honest, but I will give it 3 stars for style.
