I’ve been using the Timbuk2 Division Laptop Backpack Deluxe (Eco Static) for a few weeks now, and I can honestly say it’s worth every penny. Yes, it’s about $150, quite a jump compared to the $30 packs out there, but the quality, comfort, and design make the difference obvious. Though compact, it’s surprisingly roomy: it easily holds a folded hooded sweatshirt along with the essentials. Unlike larger backpacks that force you to take them off when you sit, this one is slim enough to act as a comfortable back cushion, letting me stay seated on benches or bus seats without any hassle. One of the standout features is the waterproof boot at the base. It’s flexible yet firm, allowing the bag to stand upright on its own, a small but incredibly useful touch. The designers also clearly thought about comfort: the front clasp connecting the shoulder straps does wonders for weight distribution, making it much easier on the shoulders during longer carries. And with Timbuk2’s lifetime guarantee, I see this as a one-time investment. It feels built to last, and I honestly expect it to be the last backpack I’ll ever need to buy. If you’re debating whether the premium is justified, my experience says absolutely yes. It’s not just a backpack, it’s peace of mind, daily comfort, and long-term value. Read more

Great backpack. Timbuk2 bags always feel extremely durable and high quality, and after a few months of use make you think, “This bag was totally worth the premium.” That said, know that this is a pretty small backpack. For my partner, it can hold two textbooks, a laptop, iPad, pencil case, and some toiletries (tissues, chapstick, bandaids, etc), but barely any more. Squeezing a jacket in, for example, would be a stretch. My partner is 5’1”, and this backpack sits just above her belt line. For short people like us, this pack is awesome! If you’re looking for a compact backpack that looks and feels great, don’t second guess yourself: this is the one! However, if you’re looking for a bag with a bit more space, I’d recommend the Authority pack deluxe. The design is very similar to this one here, but you get a second large compartment and a more spacious main compartment. Overall, the materials feel premium and the straps and back padding are really supportive and comfortable. It looks true to the photos in the listing. Highly recommend! Read more

Backpack is great but the product I received had a company logo for Paylocity that must’ve been mixed in with stock. That part kinda sucks but still a good backpack. Read more

I’ve had a Timbuk2 messenger bag for over 20 years - it’s travelled along with me on several hundred journeys, without a single frayed thread. Unfortunately, my new 16” laptop doesn’t fit in the messenger bag, and it’s a bit heavy for one shoulder, so it’s time to get something new. I wanted something a little dressier and professional than the standard backpack, and something that didn’t make me look like a survivalist prepper carrying their disaster go-bag. This Timbuk2 backpack fits the bill perfectly. Laptop fits great, lots of padding, and the pack is comfortable to carry. It’s large enough to carry my laptop and accessories, along with whatever paperwork I may need, etc., but not so large that I look like a backpack with legs. So far, it seems to be as well made as my old messenger bag - I just hope it lasts as long. Read more

Great backpack, it fits everything I need. The fabric and zips feel premium and solid. Space is good if you carry the essentials for your every day. I don’t think this could be a travel backpack so consider this before buying. Read more

Decent quality fabric and clasps. Great small size. Some of the stitching is not the greatest and unsure how it will hold up over time. Both like and dislike the lack of pockets. Holds my 15.6" laptops - my larger one is real tight but newer one with less of a screen bezel fits with room. Bit overpriced Read more

This is my second Timbuk2 computer backpack. I loved my first which eventually wore out. While I would have preferred that this backpack had a front exterior pocket like my first bag, the design of this backpack is quite good. A lot of the features of the earlier version are retained such as an internal thin pocket in addition to the computer pocket and the main section. Another is an internal leash for keys. Finally, the price is quite competitive with other computer backpacks. Read more

Its hard to find things of good quality that feel like they are built to last. This backpack knocks this out of the park. Extremely durable, great stitching, all the pocket linings are good materials and not the cheap thin garbage that swiss gear uses. I am extremely happy with this bag, and look forward to using it for many years to come. My only gripes: Small pocket storage is abit lacking, the pocket on the front is an endless void that things get lost in, and the one internal pocket is quite small. The "waterproof" thing is a joke, the zippers leak, this backpack wont protect your electronics from more than a light sprinkle. That being said, still worlds better protection than if it didn't have any waterproof coating at all. Not that good of venting, can cause a sweaty back when being active while wearing this bag. Overall 5/5 stars. Great quality, IT ACTUALLY HAS A WATER BOTTLE HOLDER THAT'S USEFUL, and its sub 20 liter. that's an extremely rare combination. Read more
