I recently started my own lip gloss business, and I purchased this product to make personalized lip gloss. This lip gloss base (versagel) has a very smooth consistency, it can easily be put in a syringe to dispense into the tubes. It’s also pretty affordable for two decent sized bags. When purchasing it through the company’s direct website it would cost about the same amount excluding tax and shipping. Unfortunately, the base is pretty thick so I did have to add a substantial amount of moisturizing and fragrance oils. Another consumer also recommended adding “oils to your glosses since the base is thick.” The company claims on their direct website that a “5.5oz bag of lip gloss base can fill 23 8ml lip gloss tubes,” but for my business, I am using 10ml tubes, so it doesn’t quite work for me. I agree with the claim that the versagel is “non-sticky, crystal clear with a smooth consistency that is completely odorless, colorless, fragrance-free…” since I was able to add fragrance and moisturizing oil without the versagel without it becoming cloudy and smelling artificial. When ordering directly through the brand’s website it is supposed to take 1-3 business days for my order to process, but when I ordered it through here it didn’t take long to process and was delivered three days earlier than expected. My biggest con is that it didn’t feel like a full 5.5oz bag, I know that the company doesn’t fill the bags completely so that customers can mix oils or colors in the max. Even though the company does disclose that “we sell our Gloss Base by WEIGHT, not by volume.” This is important because it lets the customer know what the product they’re being sold is done by. My favorite part about the product is that I accidentally fell asleep in my lip gloss, but I didn’t wake up with lip gloss on my face. I feel that the company should fill the bag by volume because I don’t feel that it is effective to mix oils and colors in the bag itself. I reviewed a couple of other versagels and found the TKb brand’s formula to have the best formula. Read more
