I have a lot of skeptic opinions before getting it, but turns out this is the best gadget I’ve ever had to hold cell phone while I’m driving. It can easily swivel without falling off from my vent. I have had several different brands and types of car phone holders in my life, some of them good and some of them terrible. I can say that this is one of the best and potentially the best car phone holders I have ever used. The vent clamp is nearly universal in that it fits nearly any car vent regardless of configuration or size. My vent "fins" are too long/deep for most of the "hook style" holders, but the clamp on this one grabs tightly to the fin. It also has good supports on the top and bottom that rest against the other fins or dash inlay. For me, the clamp holds the mount solid with virtually no movement at all even on the roughest roads and shows no risk of breaking the vent fins. Also, the release button is located on the bottom of the mount for easy access when removing the phone. The spring inside the side clamps that hold the phone in the mount is nice and strong so that the mount releases the phone quickly when the button is pushed. Some other holders I have used go sooooo slooooow! This one is open in less than a second in any temperature. I would highly recommend this vent mounted phone holder if you're looking for one! I bought three of these and all three worked great until all three broke. The good part is that they securely hold on to the cellphone over a wide range of cellphone sized. The bad part is that the fingers that hold onto the ball mount all broke off. So if you have it mounted and working, you may be OK. But if you ever unscrew fully the locking nut over the ball joint, the fingers may fall out. ...edit The locking fingers broke because the vent clamp would come loose requiring that I remove the holder from the clamp to reset the clamp position. Then after repeated actions, the fingers would break. Solution: I bought new phone holders and epoxied the clamp to the vent. So I'll add a couple of stars, since the holder itself is great.
