These are a comfortable casual dressy shoe, almost like a fabric loafer, dress shoe hybrid. There are no hot spots on the toes the way some tapered dress shoes have. The insoles are soft but not designed to be removable/replaceable. Casual enough for jeans and chinos, but still nice enough for something more upscale or even a casual suit. The have more a spring and summer feel to me, particularly because even with the fabric liner the mesh outer will probably be very breathable (a pen light held to the fabric on the inside can be seen through the outer), and going with a thicker sock for warmth may wind up making them feel snug. They may not serve well in rain or damp either for the same reason, but then neither would the loafer/boat shoe that this feels like a replacement for. The 10.5 is otherwise true to size for me with a medium to thin dress sock. The laces do feel like a slightly cheat afterthought unfortunately. I'm not a huge fan of the flat sole design that's becoming more prevalent either and much more prefer a heel, but that's subjective. The sole does seem slip resistant enough, but I do wonder about longevity vs a more dense foam. I do like it overall and hope I get a chance to wear it out again before the temperature starts to drop. Read more

So, full disclosure, in most shoes my feet get hot and sweaty by the end of the day. These shoes must be built different as this doesn't happen which is a nice/pleasant surprise/feature. I got these to have a shoe that was "in between" my usual casual Vans and dressy boots (Johnston Murphy). They are perfect for the middle ground where you need something dressier than tennis shoes but not formal...thinking office casual (or casual friday at work), family events, date night, etc. They are lightweight but not "flimsy" feeling. My only compliant if it is one is that the sole is not very "rubbery" to the touch, in other words, not much "grip"/traction on flat tile floors, etc. I suppose as long as you don't walk on ice you should be good but, fyi! Didn't buy them for the name (Tommy Hilfiger) as much as they style and price point but if you are into Tommy I suppose that's an added bonus. Read more

This is a very sharp looking pair of casual shoes for wearing inside or on a boat. I wear a 12W or 13 depending on the shoe, and the size 13 Tommy Hilfiger Vasel Oxford fits me very comfortably. The uppers are a mesh material that is very nicely lined inside. The uppers around the laces and the heel are suede. The top of the heel is high-ish and well padded similar to that of a sneaker, but not so high that you notice any discomfort. The insole is glued inside the shoe (not removable), and is a stitched leather-like material with padding underneath. The footbed is entirely flat, with no arch. The outsole is flat white and has great cushioning for walking indoors or standing on my boat. It is white, so I suspect it will get dirty quickly if worn on the street.
