This is a truly beautiful dress. The color is rich, the fabric is soft, and it's designed with intentionality (although, it doesn't have pockets and to me that's a miss but doesn't detract from this piece). It's flattering, and falls just above the knee on me. I normally wear a large, and ordered a size 12, but I do wish I had ordered a 14 instead (I am about 5' 8", ~170 lbs). This does have some cling to it, and while it's not tight, I would have felt more comfortable in a looser fit, and feel it would have been a touch more flattering on me. However, it's not something that some shapewear can't likely manage. The dress is a comfortable fit. The sleeves aren't tight, and the sleeves aren't lined, so you can enjoy the sheer material there. The rest of the dress is lined. It's not heavy, but not light or flimsy. It's constructed and made well, and will certainly last if cared for properly. The care instructions say to dry clean only, and I would say that's likely the best course of action to care for this piece. You can probably wash inside out, inside a mesh laundry bag, on delicate, and lay flat/hang dry, but I would only do that if necessary or on rare occasion to ensure that the crushed velvet remains intact. The quality is definitely higher than most of the no-name brand dresses on Amazon, and I recognize that this is a well-respected name brand, but the listing price is more than I would personally pay for this dress. It's beautiful, and well made, and while I'm very much a discount diva, I could justify maybe paying around $50 for this dress, max. At the time of this review, this dress is listed at $96 on sale ($120 list), and while Tommy Hilfiger is a great brand, you're definitely paying for the name and not much else. I would definitely still recommend this dress, as it's a great work or event dress. It's not revealing or showy, but is modest and flattering. Consider a size up if you want a looser fit. Read more

This one looks better in person than in the pictures, which is always a pleasant surprise. It's elegant, simple, and subtle, yet far from unadorned. It doesn’t have a zipper (at least that I could find), with half sleeves and a just-above-the-knees cut. I actually found the sleeves surprisingly comfortable, and didn’t even feel them. It looks great, fits well, and is made well - not much more to ask of a dress. Read more

The shift dress is true to size and gorgeous! I loved the burgundy red color. I am 128 lbs and 5'1 and a size 6 fit me well. It was not tight or too loose. It was easy to pull the dress on and off. Personally, I would have preferred a zipper. Pulling on the dress made it feel cheap given the high price point. That being said, the dress is comfortable and you can style it fairly easily with leggings or stockings. The dresses' material also feels like great quality. Read more

We ordered this dress in blue in a size 4 for my wife who is 5'3" and 118 lb via Amazon's Vine program. I handed it to my wife who lit up a bit when she saw it had arrived and immediately tried it on. This is a good quality dress. The material has a nice soft feel and is very comfortable. She really liked the beautiful blue color and that it is also a fairly conservative dress that she can wear to events where more daring attire might not be appropriate. The fit... perfect. It offered just enough of a fitted to look to not look boxy but maintain that bit off propriety. The only thing that we raised eyebrows at is the cost. At the time of ordering and this review, it was on sale for just under $95.... regularly close to $120. This far exceeds the quality of your typical no-name brand dress you can find on Amazon for a fraction of the cost, but we just question whether the quality is high enough to justify the price. I know she would have never ordered this of her own accord unless she tried it on, saw how good it looked AND was 50% off. But the value is subjective. Read more

This is a decent holiday dress that I plan to wear to my work Christmas party. It's modest and a bit above the knee but at my height (around 5'7") it is a perfectly acceptable for work event. It is super comfortable, with the material being a stretchy synthetic that just slips over your head and there are no zippers or buttons to contend with. Now on to the negatives, the stress absolutely will not hide any midsection pooch. After having a few kids, my belly has a pooch despite not being overweight. When I wear this dress I look like I'm 5 months pregnant. Sucking in my stomach or wearing Spanx should take care of this, but it's something to keep in mind. The material also seems cheap. The close-ups of the pictures but I can't help but feel like this Is not high quality material. Especially considering the price it is listed for, I would not be happy to spend more than $30 on this. I would have expected more from this brand. All in all, it's a comfortable and cute dress that will get the job done but has some flaws. Read more

Despite having a lot of great sundresses for the summertime, I have basically no nice dresses I can turn to when it turns to winter. At least, that was true before I ordered this Tommy Hilfilger’s dress. It’s both very modest and very flattering, which is hard to pull off. I’m 5’5” and ordered a size 4 and it falls to just above my knees. It fits well and drapes in a lovely way, and the fact it’s lined means it’s obviously not see-through at all. The color is a rich, deep blue that was just what I was hoping for based off of the listing pictures. The material feels super soft and comfortable to wear. The velvet fabric, floral design, and ruffled sleeves all give it touches of interest, too, so it’s anything but a plain dress. The price is, I think, a good value for a dress that looks and feels as high quality as this one. I’m happy with it and would recommend it to anyone. Read more
