I got these to replace my 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ controller's thumb sticks. They fit and work pretty well. First I tried to replace it with original Xbox thumb sticks from the xbox controller (it was broken but I save it for parts), but it doesn't fit well (the base was too tall so the thumb sticks doesn't go back to enter normal position). I ordered these and see if they work, and they fit pretty well. Quality is good. The metal surface feels a little slippery, but I got thumb grips, so all is good. Read more
The rubber tops of both my PS5 controller’s left thumbsticks had been starting to be able to rotate/spin and were very worn. Saw this product and thought I would try it out in the worse controller. You have to take the controller completely apart, but following the video it was actually really easy, you just have to be a bit careful. The controller worked fine afterward and these thumbsticks feel fine, they are aluminum and won’t be wearing out like the factory ones. After playing for a bit I immediately ordered the red ones and did the other controller as well. This time it took less then ten minutes and I didn’t even need to follow the YouTube video! My go to company that I used to buy my aluminum analog sticks from stopped making them, so i had to look elsewhere and decided to give these a try. They're very aesthetically pleasing, with subdued design features which i like. However, they fail in arguably the most fundamental aspect of analog sticks in actual usage, which is grip. The description says the knurling provides ample grip which is why i decided to give these a try, but in reality your fingers will just slide slide right off. The knurling is too shallow to even do anything and is only for aesthetics it seems. There should at least be a slight 90 degree section on the edges of the pad so your fingers don't slide off, but they made that angled and smooth on these. It's unfortunate but pretty much all aluminum stick designs I've tried all suffer from this zero/slippery grip fact because they go for form over function. They at least have a nice looking design that isn't cringeworthy like most other designs, so I'll give Tomsin that one. Read more

I bought these because if I'm going to mod a controller, I'm only going to do it once, and I intend for the controller to last. These sticks are more durable than the stock plastic, but there are a couple of tradeoffs to get there. Also, my package was clearly used (torn bubble wrap in a bent but sealed cardboard box). If that's a problem, then choose another seller. Replacing the sticks is pretty simple: pry off R1, L1, and the faceplate, unscrew four screws, pry off the back shell, remove the battery, remove the plastic battery holder, and carefully push on the sticks to pop out the board. Then you can replace the sticks and reassumble. The sticks look like an exact replacement, but because there are no rubber caps, an exact replacement is not enough. Rubber is grippy, so a metal replacement needs more aggressive texturing to compensate. While the knurling around the edge of the stick does help with grip, they're still slippery. This problem is shared across multiple metal thumbstick brands, which makes these the best of a bad bunch. Fortunately, there are aftermarket options for rubber caps. If those caps stretch over the joystick, they should work fine; however, if they use plastic clips to snap on, there's going to be a problem. I had to step on the stick to force it into the clips. Replacing the thumbstick caps when the rubber wears out will require disassembling the controller again to pull out the sticks so you can clamp on a new set. Read more
I love these thumbsticks as I'll probably never replace them again on my Steam Controller and the texture/feel is just right for me. But the installation was puzzling for me because I thought I used enough force to jam the thumbsticks into the box lever but it turned out I needed to put a huge amount of force just to plug it "all the way in". I was stuck when I installed it but the thumbstick was stuck or sticking on the controller frame so I thought to myself that's weird maybe I bought the wrong size or didn't fit. I made sure by using a toothpick and measuring the depth of the hole and lever, nope just right so I really used a lot of force just enough to see if the gap was gone while making sure I didn't break the circuit board or controller box. After that, it was smooth sailing, and never had problems again. Read more
