Works great for all my tools. The insert is nice, but I rarely use it. There are so many pockets and nooks in and on the bag that I really didn't need the insert as well. My only complaint may be that the way it was shipped caused the backpack bottom to fold up kinda funky so the backpack wont sit up straight on its own, but I threw some big batteries in the bottom and hung it up over the weekend and that mostly fixed it. This is a review for: "Tool Backpack, Heavy Duty Tool Bag with Removable Tool Organizer, Work Backpack Storage Bag with Padded Shoulder for Electrician, Repairman, Plumber, Hvac Techs" Let me just say this tool bag has a literal ton of hooks, pockets and spots for various tools. Some clear pockets for small loose items, outside edge pockets one mesh and one concealed and even a double-sided insert. I got this because I thought it was a bit smaller than my standard back pack that I keep my laptop in and its almost as large but way more versatile. Immediately after opening and inspecting I was scratching my head trying to figure out what that flap on the front was for since there are no side walls to prevent anything from falling out however after looking at the listing and seeing a coiled up extension cord it made more sense. I got this so that I could replace multiple small tote style tool bags with zipper tops as occasionally I do some field work and having to lug around a bunch of overly stuffed totes is frustrating. I do work in the computer field but have specialized knowledge in the cabling industry in relation to telephone, coaxial cable in both television/antenna and satellite communication, I also have degrees in the networking field for Ethernet and such so I have a myriad of tools and specialized connectors and tools for all of those fields. I tend to keep my fields separate in each tote but having a tool backpack like this will allow me to combine and have sections or separate areas for each fields tools. I can see using the front pouch for stuff like a patch cable, and monitor cables such as DP and HDMI to USB-C and Mini DisplayPort. I also do my own electrical and have residential electricians tools, shielded screw driver sets, multi-meters, toners, network testers and the like. I should be able to fit all of it in this bag. The inserts may come in handy to load up with tools shared as common through all the fields such as screw drivers and such too. The zipper did feel as though it was binding as I was unzipping it one time on first unzip. Maybe with some use it may loosen up some. I am not a big fan of the small zipper, I'd much prefer a larger zipper like my DeWalt tote's have which have large teeth and don't ever bind for me at all. All over the handle at the top, the straps and other various places are small looks for hooking on other tool items that utilize a carabiner which is convenient to access first level go to tools to check initial things when troubleshooting in the field. The handle is a rough and tough rubber grip with a coated steel braided wire running through the handle and riveted to the nylon sewn top offering a tough and heavy duty feel that should be able to handle a large amount of weight if your pack is loaded down. while the padded back and arm straps will reduce fatigue when going in and out of the field and back and forth from job-site to vehicle. It seems like a good value so long as it truly hold up over time which time will only tell. Additionally the front comes with a USA flag patch that is held on by Velcro. You can use that display a Velcro company logo patch or even a name tag. Overall a nice bag! Read more
What a handy backpack! I ordered this because I'm always running out of spots to put things in my usual backpack without it feeling like a jumbled mess. Well, this one has slots upon slots upon pockets galore! The backpack comes smartly rolled around a firm flat insert (which has even more slots) and unrolls nicely. The handle, which has a braided metal core, is coated in a clear flexible material, and then covered with a black rubbery hand-hold. The handle is riveted into the top of the backpack and feels very durable. The outermost pocket has some MOLLE-type webbing sewn in making it possible to add additional pouches to it if you need; a very thoughtful consideration without adding any extra bulk for those who don't plan to use it. Continuing on, there is an open slot between the outer pocket and the inner pockets where you can slide in various oversized equipment items and cinch down the included straps to hold them in place. Again, quite thoughtful. There is another small pouch on the upper end of the backpack that has approximately a 2" x 3" hook-and-loop fastener spot sewn in for displaying a name patch or other fun patch you might want on there. Going inside the largest pocket, there is an abundant amount of open space, a frosted-clear inner zip pocket, and then the whole rest of the inside is lined with slots for tools. It would take me too long to try to count how many tool slots there are in this bag, so just trust me when I say there are A LOT! The side pouches are sized well to fit a standard water bottle or possibly another tool if you (by some unexplicable means) manage to run out of other slots to put it in. The bottom of the backpack has a firm base and TPE spikes that should give it good traction on whatever surface you need to put it onto. The straps are soft and there is some comfortable lumbar padding built in to reduce back strain for those heavyweight tool sets too. Other than that, the stitching is all really solid, zippers feel very smooth to operate, and there are D-rings added on the straps and top so you can accessorize more if ever needed! Really, this backpack keeps giving and giving. I am impressed.
