This lighter is sporadic in flame size going from a small flame to a scary large flame. I believe this kind of behavior in a lighter generally results from over filling which I don't believe I did. I decided to purge the lighter of lighter fluid and refill carefully to make sure I didn't overfill and sure enough, same result. After my 3rd attempt I just gave up. Not really sure how to rate this because it acts like a mini blow torch! I only need it for lighting candles in a jar. On the lowest setting, there’s still a good sized flame (more than a quarter inch wide at it’s base) and when it’s tipped down and then back up again, the flame shoots up for a second. If it’s on the highest setting, there’s a big “poof” and it blows itself out. When it was first filled, the flame shot up and down even though it was set on low but that may be because it was overfilled or had air in it. This little lighter packs a punch! The one thing I forgot is the butane, which you have to order separately. Just some advice, turn it down low the first time if you want to save your eyebrows! Looks like a flamethrower on high! To be a compact lighter it really exceeds my expectations. Read more
