Quality flat top PAR30
Flat top bulbs are the way to go. They give a nicer light because they don’t scattered the light like a round top. You can get that impression from the one picture above. A round top in the same picture- the black baffle is not visible as it’s blurred out by the scattered light . The point is the flat top gives a nicer light and it’s not glaring in your eyes. I don’t know why flat tops are so hard to find.... not at HD or Lowe’s in my search. This is a beautiful product it comes nicely packed with minimal waste packaging as you can see. I will be looking at their line to order other bulbs as I need. I went with the 300OK which is just a little cooler than the 2700 that I have used in the past for LEDs to better imitate incandescent. The bulbs now have a higher CRI giving a clear and better light. The 3000 K gives a truer color although still on the warm side, and I think the trend eventually will be towards truer light color as everyone switches away from incandescent and halogens. Halogens were once the epitome for true clear light. They do use power and when dimming to low light they go more into the warm spectrum which can be nice and it’s what were used to, but times are changing. With theses LEDs the colors remain true even at low settings, they use very little power so they stay on longer - all the time in that back hallway. There should be no longer such a thing as a dark house, or a dark corner, or a dark hallway. Just put in more recessed lighting and get these PAR 30 flat tops.
