These Tough Headwear Thermal Skull Caps are fantastic. They’re a great deal for the price, warm, and made of good-quality material. However, they definitely run large, and that’s coming from someone with a big head. If your head is on the smaller side, these probably won’t be a good fit, but otherwise, they’re an excellent buy. As a midwest resident who has to run in cold weather for the most part of the year, head wear is something of a necessity for me. I have some more expensive and relatively more affordable ones. This one falls into the second category. I thought I would keep it for light daily use but the light weight and ear protection made it my primary go to item. Plus you get two colors in one go so versatility is there as well. I wash it after each use together with all my activity clothing. It stood well to tens of washes over the last couple of months. I use active wear detergent and the appropriate washing cycle. I do not do tumble drying because it does not need drying and brief air drying is more than enough. Overall, I enjoy having this one, a versatile, affordable head wear that protects well and is of light weight. Read more

I ordered this last year right as I transitioned to riding indoors on the trainer, so I never had a chance to test it out in the cold, until today. I rode today in 32F weather with 20mph breezes and this liner performed great! For the most part I didn't even notice it- which means it wasn't too hot, wasn't too cold and wasn't too sweaty. I've used headbands previously that are designed to cover the ears and always have trouble with them riding up and exposing my ears to the cold and having to regularly pull it back down during the ride. This helmet liner didn't have that problem. In fact the only negative thing I can say about it is it left an indentation line on my forehead for an hour after the ride which probably looked a little funny as I walked around the office. I have no hairline to hide it! It would be better if they didn't have a seam in that location, but it isn't worth taking a star off for. Read more

It occurred to me while I am shopping for new bicycle helmets that I ride a high percentage of my rides with this helmet liner on at some point in the ride. Many of my fall and spring rides start with the liner on when we are in the 40s or low 50s Fahrenheit until I warm up. My winter rides and commutes always utilize this item. So, I am making sure when I try on helmets that I try them on with the helmet liner too. This helmet liner is very comfortable. It provides great coverage of the head, forehead, and ears without obstructing my view at all. This is incredibly comfortable to wear and is very warm. I have done bike commutes in the 25 degree Fahrenheit range with this helmet liner on and was not cold. I should add that I had glasses on to protect my eyes and I had a Buff Merino Wool gaiter on that covered my face. This liner is perfect with a Buff for cold weather, though, because you can have the Buff protect your neck, overlap the liner at the ears and cheeks, and cover your face. This is a great product. I am really glad I bought it. I have ridden so many fantastic rides with this helmet liner that if I did not own it I would either have not ridden or I would have been in something less comfortable or been too cold. Highly recommended. I use it for road cycling, touring, and commuting. Read more
