I prefer a rain hat over an umbrella. I like keeping a rain hat in my work backpack in case it rains. This is a very easy to carry; you can smash it into your bag and it doesn't really impact the shape when you have to wear it. The adjustable feature is a plus since the hat is rather large for my head. I have used it only a few times, once in a heavy rain, and my hair stayed dry. I did notice that water does penetrate the seams but they do not leak through the lining (at least not yet). The bordeaux red is not as dark as I would have liked but it is fine for its purpose. The price, on the other hand, is high for what it is. This would be a better value at half of the price. Read more

We are dismayed to see that a product that is supposed to be of good quality bought in good faith , be packaged in such manner, fully transparent, in full view of the receiver, with disregard of the intension/purpose of its buyer. As other reviewers have said, this hat is small — but it’s the perfect size for my head. I purchased it for a trip to Italy. Although it only rained once, it rained hard, and I was glad to have this hat in my pocket. (It folds compactly.). For that one downpour alone, it was worth the price. It will live in my suitcase pocket, along with my travel umbrella. One plus is that, although it fits snugly around the (adjustable) crown, it didn’t smash down my hair. This rain hat is perfect to keep in side pocket of your favorite hooded rain jacket. The hat works great by really keeping your head dry, even in torrential rain. You can even look quite cool if you take time and shape the hat different ways. If you wear it stock, it's the classic bucket hat look.
