All of the Tramatonia knives are excellent quality, have a substantial and well balanced feeling when held, and they are very sharp. The materials and build quality are excellent. We recently supported an international team competing in a major BBQ contest. Since the team was flying in from overseas, my wife and I brought the supplies to help the guys prepare their entries. I purchased the Tramontina Boning Knife to use on chicken and brisket. The guys were very impressed by the quality and the factory sharpness of the blade. Just arrived. Seems very well made, sturdy, balanced and sharp. It’s a big knife, so I’m not surprised it’s heavy, but might be uncomfortably heavy for some. PLEASE NOTE: the knife arrived in a Tramontina box with very minimal packing material and nothing covering the point of the blade, the cardboard sleeve included is too short for this knife. As I tried to carefully open the box, a slight tilt caused the knife to slide to one end and the point went fairly deep into my hand. To avoid this, I recommend opening the box carefully along its entire length with a razor knife or similar, or wear a heavy glove if opening the end of the box, or other precaution. Read more

This wasn’t an exact replacement for the knife my had, but she loves it. The size and shape are the same. She uses this knife for everything and said it’s sharper than the one she had. If she’s happy I did a good job buy it. Read more
