This is extremely well designed for a carry-on bag, with the right measurements to fit under airplane seats. We got this because we'll be travelling soon and I heard they're being much stricter with carry-on sizes now. One cool thing is that the back is pretty structured because of the padding, so if it's properly packed this will definitely stand up on its own. DESIGN: This has 4 full-length pockets, including the back one for a laptop with padding an extra zippered pocket and more space, and the main 'compartment' with a big zippered pocket on both sides. It has two water bottle pockets that will fit a standard size plastic water bottle or slim thermos style bottle. The shoulder straps are conveniently placed closer together than a normal backpack so it's comfortable and stable to wear. The suitcase strap and front buckle add to the thoughtfulness, though I personally would only wear the front buckle if I was somewhere crowded where I didn't want it to get pulled off me. MATERIAL: This is lightweight, supposed to be designed to be tear and water resistant. The back is structured and padded with mesh, as are the shoulder straps. I think they would be too structured for me for everyday use, but for a trip or a very heavy bag, it's a great feature. QUALITY: The quality over delivers for the price. This backpack is attractive, I got it in this beautiful blue color, and is of high quality. The laptop compartment easily fits 2 laptops, in the last photo I show a 16" Macbook Pro, and a 11" Macbook air. There is good padding between your back and the laptops, as well as in the bottom area of the backpack where the laptop side sits, to absorb the bump from when you put your backpack down. There is no padding on the top of the backpack / zipper side, but that's an area that doesn't need it anyway. The backpack has 2 water bottle pockets (one on each side) and several zippered pockets both inside and out. Apart from the laptop compartment, the backpack has a larger volume main compartment with a separate zipper, for larger / thicker items. This backpack is comfortable to wear, with wide, adjustable straps, that even have an optional connecting stap between them, also adjustable. This really helps secure the backpack to your body to use when commuting on a bike, which is a nice, thoughtful design touch. This is a very well made piece of luggage. It is apparently designed for commuting professionals and college students. The laptop pocket will accommodate a large device and protect it well due to its ample padding. There is plenty of room for files, books, even your lunch and perhaps your "office shoes" if you are a lady. The material is heavy duty and the sewing is quite good. I had intended to give this item to my grandson who is a student. Unfortunately, he is required to carry a transparent backpack on his campus. However, when he opened the gift and explained he couldn't use it a medical professional relative who was with us immediately offered to buy the backpack since it was of such high quality and perfect for her needs. I haven’t actually used this yet, but I picked it up on promotion to replace an old travel bag, and everything about it meets my expectations so far. The materials feel solid, the stitching looks clean, and the layout seems practical for travel. At $62.99, it’s not cheap, but for a structured travel bag with decent build quality, that price isn’t out of line.
