I purchased this with a nice discount, figuring it was worth a shot for an upcoming European trip. (I'm normally a Dooney & Bourke bag user btw.) I bought it primarily for the security features - all of the zippers 'lock' to make it hard for a pick pocket, and the straps/purse are reinforced so that it can't be easily cut or pulled off your shoulder. All of this worked as advertised. What made it a really nice bag was a) it's lightweight (much less than a leather bag of similar size) and b) it's super-organized, with plenty of pockets and spaces to put things. It was compact against my body yet big enough to hold a second camera lens (a 16-35mm FF Sony lens in fact!) along with my normal 'ride along' stuff. I clipped a nylon fold-up shopping bag to the strap for additional purchases and this was really the perfect bag for travel. I like the purple (more eggplant) color, and will look for a second bag the next time these come around on sale. Read more

I purchased this bag for an upcoming international trip, but it's so cute I use it daily now. The inside is way roomier than it looks from the outside. There are multiple card and passport RFID pockets. The zippers are easy to use and can be operating with one hand. The strap can be adjusted to use this as a crossbody. The two outside pockets are huge! Easy to slip your phone, e-reader, or anything else into them and zip closed without missing a beat. I love this bag! Read more

I love this purse! It is so cute plus it's well made. However, I have had to change my habit of "bringing the kitchen sink" everywhere I go and I find that I'm much better off. It's lighter, so I don't have anymore aching shoulders, and I'm better organized. The quality is very good. However, don't expect to carry a lot in it as it is small, but sometimes that's a benefit. There's a lot of zippered pockets, one on the front and back. Inside, there's another zippered pocket and slots for credit cards and bigger items. (The card slots fit credit cards but nothing any larger and only three. I could have used more and slightly larger.) I love the fact, too, that it's made for security as well as looks "feminine" and stylish, not plain All in all, I'm happy with my purchase. Read more

Not knowing which Travelon bag would work for me I purchased four to compare them. Of the four the East/West crossbody bag was the least expensive and had the most capacious pockets. It is shorter and wider than the both the classic black and the Mini shoulder bag, measuring about 8.5 inches in length and 11 inches in width. It has three pockets, as compared to the four of the mini shoulder bag, however these pockets are larger and are easier to get into. It definitely feels like it would hold more. All the pockets are lockable, as opposed to the mini shoulder bag of which only 2 of the 4 are lockable. 1. The lockable front pocket is wide, almost 6 inches deep and has no organizational pockets. 2. The lockable main pocket has three credit card pockets, a passport pocket, a cell phone pocket, and a wide zippered interior pocket. It also has a light to help you find things. It feels like it could fit more in than the mini shoulder bag, despite being only slightly larger. I believe at least this pocket is RIFD safe - I am unsure if they all are. 3. The locking back pocket clip feels oddly placed. I had a difficult time getting it open, and every time I've locked/unlocked it it's needed two hands and some fiddling. If I kept this bag - which because of the fiddliness I may not - I imagine this pocket would remain unlocked and I would put inconsequential items in here like hand sanitizer, wipes, sunglasses or whatever. It is a large open pocket lined in dark blue rather than the usual light grey. The strap is as usual rough and not very flexible due to the slashproof properties. It is adjustable. The material of the bag is not smooth cotton, but somewhat rough due to its water resistant (waterproof?) nature. Pros for this bag: Inexpensive compared to the others, and somewhat more capacious with wide pockets that are easier to access. All the pockets are locking. Cons: That fiddly back pocket lock. Other reviews mention the blue colour is not colour safe which gives me pause, but I have no evidence of that myself. Read more

“Burgundy” is NOT burgundy but rather a dark purple!(verified by numerous family/friends). Fortunately I don’t mind purple and love the design of this purse. This is now my third. I’ve carried this purse style around the world and have been impressed at how much it can hold. The purse itself is lightweight but holds my wallet (travel size), passport, lipstick, personal hygiene items, reading glasses, sunglasses, pens, small pad of paper, hand sanitizer , car fob, comb, in short, a ton! I love the two outside zipper pockets and the interior design. One large interior pocket for my passport. The other side sports two pockets as well as RFID card holders (5 slots). I love that all three of my purses of this type (tan, black and now burgundy) have light colored interior fabric to make it easy to see inside. The strap length is perfect for adjusting from shoulder to crossbody tho a touch stiff (due to the antitheft construction). I’ve gotten rid of 90% of my other purses as this style has become my “go to”. It’s the perfect size (I need that 2.5” bottom width. It’s much more forgiving should I need to stuff more items in).
