I use tripods on a daily basis for work. All Manfrotto. They are excellent tripods for holding my lasers. The Fatboy is for holding a rifle. This thing is beefy. I went cheap at first and got the BOG. I didn't like it all that much. Again your competing against the best in the industry (Manfrotto). I have a very similar size tripod in the Manfrotto brand and I think this Fatboy is better. The thing is just beefy and yet still fairly light weight. If you're looking for the best tripod on Amazon then you seriously need this Fatboy. Buy once cry once. It is a standard bowl with a 3/8 thread so any head will mount to it. I also bought the Fatboy 60mm head. Honestly its good and pretty but in my opinion a bit overpriced. I have another brand head that was 1/3 the price that I like better (other than the pretty green). I don't believe the tripods are made in the USA however they are a USA company and stand behind their products. Like LIFETIME WARRANTY type of stuff. Thats awesome and I'll pay a little extra for that. Read more

This is an incredibly well made Tripod. I live the fact that they engineered it to prevent the legs from crossing/banging together. Also the recessed spikes are a really well thought out design. This thing, coupled with a Sunwayfoto head and hog saddle makes a great combo. And the green is not bright like the picture. It’s much better looking in person. Read more

Light weight and steady. My go to for my tripods. This was my second tripod so I don’t have to hear my buddy struggle with his BOG. It’s light enough for my kids to carry when they go with me and strong enough for any terrain you can imagine. Read more

Though pricey, paired with the invert 60 ballhead this is "The one". After having went through many tripods and converting a Bog to a ballhead. This is just plain the one. The old addage of buy once cry once applies. If you're on the fence, don't be. Bite the bullet, your shots and memories afield will definitely be rock solid same as this tripod. Hope this helps for those contemplating the investment. Read more

This FatBoy Traverse 3-section tripod was recommended by a neighbor and I'm so happy I took there recommendation as this thing is a beast. It's as solid as they come, yet the combination of carbon fiber and aluminum construction makes it light and easy to transport which can be a big deal if you've got a long trek with a lot of gear. Quick and easy to set up, and because each leg can be adjusted separately, it's no problem to set up on uneven terrain. Even has spikes at the bottom of each leg that are easily exposed by rotating the rubber feet to help with grip in those situations where you need a little extra stability. Overall, once you choose which ball head you want (we'll probably go with the Invert60) you'll be all set for nearly any situation. 5/5 Stars for design, robustness and versatility, and honestly if I could give it more stars I probably would.
