Excellent Phin.
Wow. A few people driving down the rating of this excellent phin because apparently they were under the impression that it was made of stainless steel while in fact it is made of aluminum. If there was false information in the description, i'm sure it was accidental. I bought my first one 4 years ago and could tell from the photos that it was aluminum. C'mon people... Anyway, I love mine, and being aluminum, it's very light, and it's excellent for taking on backpacking adventures. I hiked part if the Appalachian Trail in 2023 and had mine with me. I'm glad I did, because it's about the lightest coffee system you're likely to find. Great product. Works perfectly. Good job, Nguyen! Read more

Recently visited Viet Nam and drank the coffee every day. Saw plenty of filters EXACTLY like this being sold in the markets there. Didn’t have space in my bag so I ordered one when I got home and it does a great job. Read more
Turned black and smells bad
The filter is not aluminum and they are tricky about it. They say “stainless steel” but in their description out of the view of a person scanning over quickly, it says “aluminum filter”. My filter turned black and now smells horrible after coming out of the dish washer Read more

it's THIN for aluminum
Yes, I knew it was aluminum when I purchased, but no way to tell how THICK the aluminum was. If it WERE thick enough, it would be fine, that is NOT the case. It's not gonna last and will probably bend / fold over at some point unless you baby it. Read more
