I have had the combination locks, the key locks and each has pros and cons, but I really like this lock over all of the others. 1. Key locks - nice with a key as you dont forget a combination or but have found the ones I have are smaller and not as strong. I bought two at a time so I could keep keys in different places. 2. Combination locks - yes you can forget the combination, but its not that hard. What I like was the cable that came in different lengths as that allowed me to use it for different purposes. I was concerned about the strength of the cable. They worked fine. There are many things I like about this lock. 1. It is heavier and the metal feels stronger. Just an observation so would need to cut to find out, but it does carry a lifetime warranty, so that says something. 2. The key is great as it ie easy to use and since I bought the 4 pack they all have the same key. Wishes 1. They made one that has a longer lock option. 2. I wish the price to add more locks was not as high. For example for my specific lock it is around $20 per lock beyond the 4. So far quite happy with it. Read more
Used these for a trip. I think these are sturdy and excellent for travel, and great for extra security on belongings at home. I like that it comes with 8 key cards and you can carry these as backups or let someone you trust hold onto one. The locks are a little dense so you will feel some weight to them, but they feel durable and made with great quality. The warranty on these is also wonderful in case of losing the key cards. My only gripe is that the keys are hopefully not the same for every single lock out there. My least favorite part was opening the package--solid plastic and very strongly sealed, which adds to security and durability, but was not as consumer friendly to open even at the directed cutting areas. These are great little locks. Sturdy, light weight, well made and concealable. The average person will not know they are looking at a lock (camoflauged) to the untrained eye. The cool part is the lock is quickly release on the bottom corner by 2 different sizes of key cards. One size fits in with your reqular credit cards, the other size can be added to a key chain. So this lock is great for luggage going into the airport, but outside the airport it's not very secure. For starters this is a basic lock with a unique key system. The build of the lock is great. The issue comes from the latch itself. It doesn't go far enough in the lock to make it more secure. With a strip of plastic I was able to open the lock from the latch as there is plenty of wiggle room to fit it in there. Again great lock, but the design can be improved. It works as adversitsed, but a prepared theif can easily open this lock. A better design would be for the latching point to be further down and for the hole for the latch to be smaller making it harder to be able to stick something down in it. Read more
Love these locks and the ease of using a card rather than fumbling with a key or combination. Very light weight but sturdy and fit all suitcase locks or tent zippers if you need to secure a tent at a public event. Great value since you get multiple locks and key cards.
