I purchased the Tuft and Needle Mint mattress directly from the company. It is supposed to be their step-up, more medium mattress. It was hard. There's no two ways about it - so firm, I couldn't lie on my back (I cannot lie on a floor without lifting my knees due to lower back problems). Side sleeping was working, but I'm an all around sleeper, so it wasn't cutting it. So, I read reviews and decided to throw more money towards Tuft and Needle and buy the topper. The topper made a LOT of difference. I can lie on my back, side or stomach comfortably with the same support underneath the topper. It seems to cradle my body more, fill in the gaps, and add that "pillowtop" effect to the mattress. Both the mattress and the topper are well made. The topper has a very nice cover - which most toppers don't have. There are little silicone nubs on the bottom of it - but they aren't all that sticky. Don't expect to use this without putting a bed pad on top to keep it all from sliding around. I'd recommend strips of silicone that are 1" wide instead - if the manufacturer is listening. I always use a bed pad over a mattress and before the sheets, so it wasn't a problem for me - but it really isn't an "option" for this topper. You'll lose it - and it'll slide off. It's very lightweight, actually. I bought a cooling bedpad from overstock (my go-to place for nice bedding for a good deal and thorough reviews) since I felt like the mattress was a little warm. I figured the topper might be just as warm. So far, so good with the set and my Spa Luxe bedpad. My only complaint is that when I bought the mattress through T&N, it came within 3-4 days. I bought the topper through Amazon, because I wanted to use my Amazon card and get 5% back. It took 10, yes 10, days to get to me. It was being shipped from T&N, so no idea if the holdup was because I bought it through Amazon or if that's just how slow they are to send their toppers... but I was suffering on a hard mattress and 10 days was too long. Overall, I know without the topper, the mattress would be returned. I've slept with the topper for 3 nights and I'm seeing an improvement. I'll update the review if needed, but it has made the difference between returning the mattress now and seeing the 100 night trial to the end. If you have a firm mattress, I would recommend this! Wonderful pick me up for a mattress that is causing me hip pain. This will extend the life of my mattress. I bought the medium firmness and it has enough give to sink down a little bit but still be supportive. Very comfortable temperature wise. Very little smell. Good price for a king size. Read more

This is comfortable but does slip on the T&N mattress if you are using an adjustable bed. I finally fixed that by putting a piece of carpet gripper pad across the top area of the mattress between the mattress and the topper. No more slipping. I'm not talking the adhesive type, just the rubber grip like this one. https://smile.amazon.com/Non-Slip-Rug-Pad-Gripper-Protection/dp/B088TRVJLH/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=rug+gripper&qid=1623670988&sr=8-3-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFJNDFJRkE2ODBONDQmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAzOTQ5NzMyQVMwVEc5WTk4VUNCJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAyMjkyMjMzNUxZN1QyWjJJWkpRJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== This made my T&N mattress perfect. I got the original topper from T&N but because I bought the second mattress on Amazon (hubby stole mine with my permission), I could not get a free topper. Some nonsense about security. Anyway it's worth the money but I had to religate the year old topper to the guest bedroom and get this new one because it was wearing out a bit. The new one brought the bed back to perfect. If I have to spend $120 a year to have less pain it's worth it. Read more

I bought this because I started finding my very firm Beautyrest mattress that worked well for me when I bought it a couple years ago much too firm because I have had an increase in joint pain with age. My spouse still likes the mattress as it is so I bought a twin xl topper just for my side of the bed. I was skeptical about spending this much, but I really wanted it to have a cover and was concerned about strong odors from off gassing. This topper did have some odor when I initially unpackaged it, but I left it in a less-used room in our home for a few days and the odor pretty much disappeared and has not been an issue. The cover is ok, but the non-slip bottom is just a synthetic no woven material which would definitely be damaged if it were put through a washing machine. The listing and packaging do say to only spot clean as needed, though, so I wasn’t terribly disappointed by that. It might be ok to dunk the cover in a bathtub full of oxyclean if spot cleaning just wasn’t enough, but I am hoping that won’t be an issue for me. I do take some issue with the nonslip claim, as the first week it was in use it migrated about a foot down the bed. My initial fix for this was to put a piece of that grippy carpet pad material underneath it at the head of the bed and this did resolve the issue. Because this topper is so thick I was not experiencing the full benefits of the chillpad we have in our bed, and it even felt just a little too soft, so I ended up putting it under my side of the chillpad. This has worked quite well for me in terms of adjusting the firmness just enough and still getting the benefits from the chillpad. It also keeps it in place better. An extra deep fitted sheet fits over it just fine even with the additional bulk from the chillpad. It might be more of a stretch if the topper were on both sides, though. I have been falling asleep much more easily without so much pressure on my joints. The elderly cats gravitate to lounging on my side of the bed now as well. Eventually I will throw the box into the recycling, but for now the cats are enjoying that, too. Read more
