I was looking for a weight to use in a backdrop in our local children's museum that was not going to concentrate the weight in certain places, but spread it along--I was afraid that a child might swing the backdrop and hit someone with a bit of weight. These were the perfect answer. They were super easy to spread along the bottom inside the hem, and easy to cut and place. Read more

This was the perfect fix for a fabric caddy on a leather armchair. The caddy I got was nice, but because the armchair was slippery, any weight put in the pockets, caused the entire caddy to fall out. I needed a counterweight to kept it secure. Regular drapery weights were individual squares usually in packs of 4-6. I didn't know if there would be enough weight to do the job and I would have to secure each weight. With 6.5 yard rope, I felt I would be able to put in as many rows as necessary. It worked perfectly. Right now I have three strands in the hem (which happily was open ended!) and it looks like that will be sufficient. I haven't cut it yet in case I need to add one more strand. This obviously was designed for drapery hems to keep them hanging straight, but could have other uses. Read more

I was looking for something to weigh my outdoor curtains down and tried some diy approaches with fishing weights, etc. that didn’t work out and I came across this weighted rope product. The genius here is that the weight is evenly distributed across the curtain, and the beaded sign of the weights still allows you to open the curtains and have them gather easily. Some of the negative reviews feel the rope isn’t weighted enough. It’s true they aren’t very heavy, but I think they are just heavy enough. Won’t keep the curtains in place in a strong wind or even a brisket breeze, but for a gentle breeze these work great. I’m using with some light to medium weight outdoor curtain panels, each 54” wide. Easy enough to cut with some wire snips or maybe heavier kitchen shears, and you’ll need some way of sewing or sealing the curtains shut once the rope weights are in place. Overall there are perfect for my purpose! Read more

Thicker than what I have used in the past but much lighter. Definitely too big to put in shears. The lightweight would never be suitable for curtains. Read more

I bought these to put in my outside patio curtains. It helps to keep the curtains still and in place on non-windy days. But once the wind picks up, they are still flying around. Read more
