Best In Class...With Some Caveats

Queens LogicMay 11, 2023✓ Verified purchase

Yes to all of the obvious features proclaimed by other reviewers. Super thin, extremely well made, cool case. Smartly designed. Higher overall elevation than any other stands I've seen. These 2 caveats are not deal breakers but important considerations: The bottom of the stand extends a good 2" out from the bottom edge of your laptop. This limits how close you can place an external keyboard. You could place it on top of the stand's base but it would be pretty unstable. The weight of the stand is considerable. Read more

Not Recommended for 16" MacBook Pro

seriouslytimFebruary 13, 2023✓ Verified purchase

The description says this thing works with a 15"-17" Apple laptop. The reality is: It's sketchy for a 16" MacBook Pro. Unless you have the top section of the stand at its most obtuse angle, the computer is not stable. The stand isn't deep enough and can't support the weight. Bump the table and your computer could tip back. In addition, I have to constantly retighten the hinge points as they can't take the computer's weight and keep working loose. The computer slowing sinks over the course of a few minutes, reducing the viewing angle. And bringing the computer to an even more unstable angle. It's a nice stand and would be great for a smaller laptop. Too bad they provide misinformation regarding its compatibility. Read more

So glad I bought this laptop stand! It's perfect for my Macbook Pro

My Public NameSeptember 7, 2023✓ Verified purchase

(This is a review for the Curve Flex version) I heard about this laptop stand in a YouTube review for the best accessories for MacBooks. I thought it looked nice and appreciated that it folded completely flat, but didn't pull the trigger on a purchase because it seemed too pricey. Eventually, I did order it and it's SO nice! I'm glad I didn't get a different one. It is very sturdy, easily adjustable, and ready to use straight from the package. I saw another review say that is doesn't come with an Allen wrench for adjustments, but it does. It's in in a handy pocket inside the included carrying bag. I didn't need to use it at all when setting it up, but good to know it's there in the future when I may need it! Really holds my Macbook up well, and I love that I can adjust the height to my needs. My laptop feels safe and secure on the grippy, padded surface of the stand. Highly recommend the Curve Flex for your laptop stand needs. Worth the price, you will not regret the purchase. Read more

Sturdy for a short time period.

Like this a lot. It’s very sturdy and saves my neck. However, after a few months, it would not stay in place and would revert back to the lowest position. Read more

Issues with function and price

SueddoNovember 13, 2022✓ Verified purchase

Paying the price I did for these I expected certain things to be flawless but they weren't and below is more information. 1. Overall, it has good build quality but there seemed to be overglue on one end of the rubber strip and no glue on the other end of the rubber strip on the bottom of the stand. Ok for a 15$ stand, not ok for 80$ stand. 2. These were advertised by both twelve south and youtubers as a stand that has multiple adjustment angles. When I have the stand all the way down with the top angle slightly up, my Macbook cannot stay on and will slip right off (the advertising right on the box says you can do this). The first picture is the lowest I can go without my Macbook pro from slipping right off. 3. I had this for 2 days and barely made adjustments to it and the screws are already too loose and cannot keep the stand from just collapsing on itself. Twelve South does provide a hex screwdriver for you to tighten but I doubt the fasteners will hold over time. Again, for the price not ok. 4. I've received better travel "cases/bags" for a portable stand that were 1/3 the price of this. The logo is literally a sticker glued onto the fabric bag. These stands are made to be function over form, i'm okay paying a premium but I expect a flawless stand and this is not remotely what. I got. Read more
