Compact and thoughtfully-engineered iPad stand

Eric EwingJanuary 1, 2026

Twelve South has earned its reputation the hard way, by consistently shipping accessories that feel thoughtfully designed...and the Curve Mini fits neatly into that lineage. This is a deceptively small tablet stand with a premium aluminum build that immediately reads as durable and well-finished. What surprised me most is how compact it is when folded. It takes up very little space, and the included travel pouch is a genuinely useful touch. Despite its size, the stand extends upward and tilts smoothly forward and back, making it easy to dial in a comfortable viewing angle for typing, reading, or video calls. The footprint stays small, but the range of adjustment makes it feel far more capable than its dimensions suggest. One small caveat is worth noting: with a fairly normal but slightly bulky iPad case, the front holder feet do not cradle the device as perfectly as intended. Stability is still solid in real use, but it is clear this was designed with a bare iPad in mind. This is a minor issue, and it does not undermine daily usability, though case-users should be aware of the fit. Overall, this is a smart, well-executed stand that prioritizes portability without sacrificing function. It is ideal for anyone who wants a reliable tablet stand for both desk and travel, especially those already invested in Apple gear and design consistency. The utility-to-size ratio here is excellent, and the price feels justified by the materials, adjustability, and attention to detail. Read more

My Favorite Stand Ever

PorkChopSandWitchesJanuary 14, 2026

I love it! I don't use this for a tablet, I use it for my phone, but my phone including the case is large enough to fit the stand. I guess I've only ever really got inexpensive stands in the past, I'm glad I've learned my lesson. Everything about this bad boy is quality. It's not totally made of plastic and there's a decent amount of metal, there's rubber pads on the bottom, nicely manufactured, to prevent the stand from moving on a hard table, and also rubber on the full down arm things that actually hold the phone or tablet. It's easily articulable without collapsing. The entire stand , as well as the fold down arms, plenty of resistance when opening or when you found the desired or angle. It's never collapsed on me, it's never not stayed right where it is. Not super heavy (it is a phone stand after all), but it's not light. At least with my phone, it's perfect. I do like things with heft and anti-flimsiness, this is one of those. Read more

Sturdy material, flexible and travel friendly.

I actually own the Twelve South Curve Nano for my cell phone and use it daily, so I decided to grab this Curve Mini in Dune to use with my ipad. Like the Nano, this Mini is made out of a solid coated aluminum, with silicone/rubber sectioned panels to help protect my ipad and help it sit still. The little stand unfolds smoothly with tight hinges and the tabs pop out smoothly to hold my ipad in place. Unfortunately, it seems they fell slightly short with quality control here, as one of the protective panels happens to have a little bubble in it. I can easily smooth it down for now but it does pop back up in general. My only concern with this is that the bubble may expand, which may not be super secure on the stand over time and could eventually end up stretching out to the point where it may end up peeling off the stand. Regardless, it's been fine for the past week of constant use and I haven't had any issues with it so far. If anything, the one thing I noticed is if you have it stretched slightly higher for viewing, the three panels has a tendency to lose stability if you want to actually tap on the pad, as it can get a little bit wobbly. Because of that, this position is definitely way better for viewing purposes, and/or to use my ipad as a second monitor. Otherwise, if I need to tap frequently while it's on, it's definitely more stable to have one panel angled up. Either way, I love how slim and sleek the profile is and the functionality is flexible to a degree. The only thing this falls short of is ability to use this with a keyboard case, which I ended up removing upon arrival. Sure, I could use my case separately from this, but it takes up a significant amount of room on my desk. Because of this, I may consider getting a smaller, more portable keyboard to use while on the road and traveling in general. For now, it functions more for viewing videos, recipes and reading which easily keeps those activities hands free. On top of that, it came with a thick protective fabric case so it doesn't get scratched up in my bag while out and about. Although the price is a bit up there for a stand, this is sturdy enough and the quality is just as good as I expected from the company, with the minor exception of the one bubble mentioned earlier. Very nice stand for my tablet.

BradDecember 28, 2025

I have the origional twelve south compass, and the newer compass pro. Both are ipad stands, and both have their strengths and weaknesses. Their new take on a tablet stand is, pretty fantastic. I primarily use this stand as a secondary display for my laptop - and it can set up really anywhere. It is reasonably light weight, but where this product shines is its ability to hold a tablet up much higher and at a variety of angles to fit really any preference. I have one of the newer M4 ipad Pro 13" tablets, and it handles the size and weight just fine. While color is a subjective thing, I really like this blue color. Twelve south is a bit of a higher priced item, however, in my opinion they are worth the money. In the past their customer service has righted a few minor quality control issues with zero hassle. That in itself makes them a company I am fine doing business with. Read more
