Taste Really good! Read more
The color and taste of this matcha was pretty decent when used in my matcha latte. To prepare the powder, I sifted it and then whisked it with a bamboo whisk. The matcha blends pretty well without any clumps when mixing it with warm water. I found the matcha taste to be a little bitter than I'd like it to be so the taste wasn't completely the best. Other than that, the overall taste was pretty decent. The price is a little high for how much you get. Read more

I've tried many brands of matcha on this platform, and a good majority of the ones that claim to be ceremonial grade just are NOT. I run the test using the traditional ceremonial whisking methods for all the matchas, and I would say there's only been one other matcha I've had that was as good as this one, and that other is from the hardcore authentic KYOHAYASHIYA Uji oimatsu variety. The fact that this matches up as close as that quite impressed me despite not seeing much transparency about their sources on their listings...... Still, this is packed the right way, with the vacuum sealed bag inside the tin, and immediately from the fragrance I could tell this was one of the better matchas. Read more
I really like to try all different matchas from different manufacturers and this one was a hit! I am not really quite advanced to tell the exact notes but it is not too bitter, as earthy as you would expect for a matcha. It is good used in regular preparation, or in lattes or any other matcha flavored desserts or beverages. Two leaves and a bud has some good stuff so I was also excited to try it once it hit vine. Small size as expected but the weight lets you know that. Tin is cute and is similar to other matchas. You wont be dissapointed. Read more
Just an initial note, this is the first ceremonial matcha I have ever tried so I am not sure how to compare this with other ceremonial matchas. With that being said, I do like the taste and enjoy drinking this. It takes some time to figure out exactly how much to use per cup as there are no instructions on the can. I ended up settling on 1/4 teaspoon per cup which produced the best tasting matcha in my opinion. I am surprised that there is some bitterness. It is nothing extreme and I do like the taste but I expected there to be no bitterness in ceremonial matcha. It is easy to drink with nothing added though and even better with a drop of honey. Overall, this is an easy to make and easy to drink matcha tea that benefits from a little honey added to each cup. Read more
I’ve been enjoying this ceremonial-grade matcha for a few weeks, and it’s truly outstanding. The vibrant green color and smooth, balanced flavor reflect its high quality. It’s convenient to prepare—just whisk with hot water and sip—and I appreciate that it’s 100% organic with no additives. The tin keeps everything fresh, and I love starting my day with this energizing treat! Read more
This ceremonial matcha tea, is a very small tin. Mine came with no instructions nor information on the label. That surprised me, because I see a photo in the listing that shows an ingredients label and the expected number of servings in this product. With no instructions at all given with this, I had to look up a video online to see how much water to use and how to go about making this. I was glad for the photo in this listing that says a serving size here is half a Tablespoon, because that helps steer me in making this. But also, that is so annoying of a measurement, it is out of the ordinary from our typical measuring spoons. I have no measuring spoon that is half a Tablespoon. I wish they expressed this instead in terms of teaspoons. We have much more nuanced measuring "teaspoons". I just guessed about it and used about 1 1/4 tsp. The online video said to use about 2.5 oz of water. According to the video you first sift the matcha powder through a sieve, push the reminder through the best you can with the back of a spoon (I forgot to do this step the first time I made this.) And then you pour the boiling water in and whisk together briskly. Whisking 2.5 oz of boiling water into this, it made a very dark green liquid. I decided I needed a bit more water than just the 2.5 oz and added a bit extra, it looked to be about 3 oz. total that I ended up using for this, and that seemed more right in thickness and color. I tasted it. Matcha to me seems very "grassy" in flavor. I see some kindly call it "earthy." Yes, earthy is a good description too, although maybe a bit too kind. This tastes, as I said like you are drinking liquid freshly mown grass. Or alfalfa. I had every intention of drinking it straight, but after one sip I reverted to converting this to a latte with steamed milk. It is definitely drinkable that way. I am not terribly experienced in Matcha, this is only my second product I've experienced with it, so this is a fresh impression of Matcha as a whole, so keep that in mind as I comment on this, I see one reviewer thinks this is bitter matcha. The rest think it is not bitter. (Less bitter reflects a higher quality with Matcha.) I tend to agree toward the side of the majority here, I don't think this is an obviously bitter Matcha ,however I think the truth falls in between the two opinions- it does look like it is a it olive green in color rather than a crisp bright green and the hint of "bitterness" to me just tastes like a slight nod to what we usually think of green tea tasting like. So perhaps both opinions here, have some truth to them, and it falls closer to the "not bitter" side but not quite to "not bitter at all ." I tend to just think this is really strong and distinctive in flavor. I think with a bit of milk as a latte, it is very easy to drink this and actually I find this just as pleasant , (and maybe more so) than a presweetened "Latte" Matcha mix. The sweetness there was almost too much for the matcha , I almost find this unsweetened pure matcha, more appealing because you can custom it to your own taste, or drink it entirely unsweetened, with just milk stirred in. My last thought about this, is that the picture with the label in the listing says that this little bag inside the tin holds 18 servings of product. But this also says on the label this is 1 oz. of matcha tea. Something doesn't add up here because 1 oz. of product should only be 2 tablespoons of powder, which by their serving measure (1/2 tablespoon) would be 4 servings total. (Not 18, it would have to be 4.5 oz to be 18 servings.) The 4 serving size looks more accurate to me. On doing the math here and seeing discrepancies, also the fact they didn't put any required food information on the tin label at all, nor any directions on how to make this, plus considering how expensive this is for how little you get here; have to dock this a star in my review. ( See my photo of this tin next to an average highlighter to gauge the size for yourself.) Read more
