A long, detailed & HONEST review- from a shades snob

I am a total sunglasses junkie. I have amassed quite a collection over the years ranging from extremely affordable ($10-$30) as well as shades costing as much as a car note- and I love them all equally. ⭐️ARRIVAL & PACKAGING⭐️ These arrived quick. The glasses were protected in the typical plastic sleeves then packed in a soft drawstring case, along with a new (folded and in a sealed bag) cleaning cloth. This was all packaged in a sleek black box (that was plain/unbranded). ⭐️SPECS & FIT⭐️ I've never seen glasses (of any kind) measured in inches before like they were here (in the product photos). I always take my own measurements anyways and this is what I came up with for these- 55 □ 19mm- 144mm With a lens height of 49mm and frame width of 151mm. These aren't light-weight and cheap feeling- they do have a bit of weight to them (it's all in the frames). They aren't really heavy either. Since almost all of the weight is in the frames (because the temples/arms are thin metal), they have an interesting balance to them. That said, they do sit comfortably on the face. These are definitely oversized and with the retro/aviator style, they really flatter heart shaped, oval and square faces well. I think these have just enough lines to them where a round face could pull them off well too. These aren't uncomfortable, but since the temple tips are basically metal, that can take away from the overall comfort a little bit. If you are sensitive, they might pinch and you will definitely notice them behind the ears after hours of wear. I ended up sliding on another set of tips (with more cushion) and it made a world of difference. ⭐️QUALITY⭐️ These cost $13- which is extremely affordable for a pair of fashionable sunglasses. When discussing quality, I am keeping the incredibly low price (as well as the fact that these are generic/unbranded) in mind. In other words- I wasn't expecting Ray Ban quality here. I did expect these to be more costume quality- to be totally honest, so I was both surprised and very pleased when they arrived and I realized that these are a lot better than costume quality! The frame material is a heavier plastic (not acetate), but it doesn't feel cheap. The arms and temple tips are…different. They are thin (coated) metal, so there's not too much to them. They can/will bend (or break) easily if you aren't careful. It almost seems like the arms are too thin for the weight of the frames, but surprisingly, they hold up very well and really add some nice contrast (thick frames-thin temples/arms). The hinges are what you would expect at this price point (small screws), but they are attached securely. Speaking of screws, the metal bar across the top is screwed on and the screw is visible from the inside of the frame. These aren't designer or bespoke quality by any means, but I'm honestly impressed with the overall quality of a $13 pair of shades. These really aren't bad at all and…they are extremely good looking! ⭐️THE LENSES⭐️ Aside from the style, the thing I really like about these is the super dark lenses. They are dark, so people looking in can't see your eyes. These aren't polarized lenses, which I'm fine with because sometimes polarized lenses make it way too hard to see your phone. Also, polarized lenses come in handy for sportier shades and these are definitely more fashionable. The lenses DO keep your peepers protected though and for me, they do help me avoid migraines on super sunny days! ⭐️VALUE & FINAL THOUGHTS⭐️ I am a quality snob with very high standards and expectations. I ordered these because I thought they were super cute, but my expectations were realistic. I really went out on a limb because I've never bought sunglasses off this platform for less than $20 (that were unbranded) that were actually wearable when they arrived. That said, I'm very pleased with these! They are super cute, they are pretty comfy to wear, they actually protect my eyes and they DON'T feel like cheap dollar tree sunglasses and they are way better than costume quality! For $13-$17, these are a pretty solid WIN (any higher would be pushing it though). If your expectations are realistic, then I think you will love these just as much as I do! Read more

Retro aviator sunglasses

These aviator sunglasses are stylishly big and loud, with a shiny black frame and amber-yellow lenses. The shape is aviator-style with rounded outer corners, and the frame is thicker than what you'd see on an all metal frame. The front part of the glasses looks nice enough, but the arms are just plain shiny gold-toned metal, no decoration or embellishment, and they look kinda cheap. The fit is ok. I find women's frames are usually a little tight on my temples (I'm sensitive to pressure) so I usually buy men's frames, and these unisex frames are still a little too tight for me. I think I could bend the arms/joints a bit if I really wanted to, but I don't love the style enough to do that. The frame shape makes my face look a little droopy. I think I'll find another home for these. They come with a lens polishing cloth and a soft drawstring bag to store them in. They aren't polarized. Read more

Bold Retro Aviators That Elevate Any Outfit

These sunglasses deliver exactly the oversized vintage look I was hoping for. The gold frame feels trendy and lightweight, and they instantly dress up even a basic outfit. My only minor issue is they are a bit large on smaller faces, but if you like bold statement sunglasses, these are a great buy for the price. Read more

Heavy plastic feels cheap, but they are stylish!

At the current price of $16 for these sunglasses, I wasn’t expecting high quality. I was right. While the look of these glasses elevate an outfit, they are very plastic looking and sounding. The sound is what surprised me, when the arm of the glasses hit the frame when you close them, the plastic clank screams, “cheap!” The lenses are a dark rose with heavy tint and block sunlight well. I’ll wear these because they are cute, and I’ll try to close them quietly, but I’m not expecting them to last long, Read more
