TOUGH LOVE
I enjoyed it. It showed how we must be held accountable for the choices we make. In Madea's case, she is sentenced to community service due to her irresponsible behavior and unwise choices. As a result of being sentenced to community service, she's able to turn her negative conduct into a positive - saving the youth center. She taught those children some valuable life lessons. They were taught the importance of respecting their elders and how to persevere during unfavorable circumstances. They were taught indirectly that love can come in different wrappings. I know that many viewers would probably argue that Madea's not much of a role model to the youth and it's perfectly fine to feel that way. However, it was clear that those children weren't concerned with Madea's background. They were more concerned with her bailing out on them once she completed her time. Those children only saw a woman who had her own way of showing how much she cared for them. In reality, it's not usually the children who are concerned with an individual's background. It's typically the adults who judge others based on their background and act as if they're no longer useful to the world. I do recall the lady politician making reference to Madea's background on more than one occasion. Often times children are not taught morals and values in their home and it sometimes takes a Madea to teach them. Some children have never been shown genuine love until a Madea shows up in their life. We must understand that children just want to be loved. They could care less about who shows it to them. If only we could be like the children. I would recommend this dvd to parents of small and teenage children. Many may be reluctant to purchase the dvd because they're turned off by Madea being in trouble with the law. Please don't allow that one little minor detail to keep you from purchasing it. In my opinion, you'll be glad you did. My husband and I watched it along with our son and we enjoyed it. It's always good to see love being spread around and a little laughter never hurt anyone.
