A little of this makeup goes a really long way, and you won't need the amount that the pump dispenses. Luckily the other end of the pump comes with an additional applicator so you can dab the tiniest amount. The colour is good and covers well. The makeup is both long-lasting and waterproof. It lasts all day long, and even then, you will want to use soap to help remove (and maybe a makeup remover wipe). There are no added fragrances, and it works well for sensitive skin. This stuff is a beast in a bottle. Great coverage, blends beautifully, and once it’s on, it stays on like it pays rent. You’ll definitely need real soap and water to take it off, because makeup wipes are going to tap out. It has a light, pleasant scent and so far it’s holding up amazingly. When the brand says full coverage, they weren't kidding- this stuff can cover both frustrating hormonal acne and the sins of your ancestors. The consistency is thick (as is with most full coverage foundations) and despite it's almost spackle like texture, did not settle into pores or appear cakey. After appropriate skin prep (for these type of formulas, less is more as too many skincare layers can cause pilling and separation) and priming, I applied with a spatula and blended in sections with a damp beauty sponge. Because it sets quickly to a matte finish, I might give it a go with one of those specialized microfiber beauty sponges that are kind of velvety and are meant to be used dry specifically for full coverage, matte formulas. Once it sets, it does not budge. I wore it for 10 hours, two meals, a very wet PNW downpour, and two touchups with a translucent pressed powder, and it looked nearly as good as when I left the house, with just a bit of separation around my nose. There is some oxidation, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars out of 5. The pump that doubles as a doefoot wand is a very intriguing innovation, allowing for precise spot concealing and dispensing larger amounts. I've never seen that before, and it's very cool. I've had no issues with clogging despite the thick consistency. One concern I have is for hygiene - if the wand is used directly on the face and inserted back into the bottle, then microbes could be transferred, leading to acne and irritation. To summarize: this is a thick, very full coverage foundation that self-sets to a matte finish. It gives a slight blurring effect. I'd say it's best suited for those aiming to conceal melasma, rosacea and more severe acne scarring and post- inflammatory hyperpigmentation/erythema. It's slightly heavy with the potential to look cakey and cling to dry patches. Those with dryer, mature skin may prefer something more skincare-forward and hydrating. If you're aiming for a full beat with intense coverage and crazy staying power then this is the stuff for you! The shade range could use some improvement - out of a total of 8 shades I received 04 and it was a tad too deep and warm for me, running a rather yellow. 02 would have been a better shade match- I'm alabaster pale with cool olive undertones, so this required a bit of finagling with a blue and white mixer to look closer to my complexion. My verdict? 4/5, but I'm heavily biased toward BB creams and cushion bases. At this price point, it performs like a foundation triple the cost. Read more
