First of all, let me say that the taste was not unpleasant. That's where the positive review ends! I read the directions that says "brush lightly with charcoal. Let teeth absorb charcoal for 2 minutes before rinsing. Use twice daily." I put a small amount of this toothpaste on my brush and proceeded. Here's where it gets interesting! Black dots were EVERYWHERE! On my clothes, the counter, sink, mirror, wall....Now, I'm not a messy or careless person, but I was not prepared for the absolute mess this made. Not to mention that once I caught my reflection in the mirror, I nearly had a stroke!! Black mouth, tongue, chin, lips... After I rinsed, my tongue and the skin surrounding my mouth was stained. I needed to use cold cream to remove it. I also vigorously used a toothbrush and a tongue scrapper with "regular" toothpaste to get it off my tongue! This was WAY more work than it's worth. Read more

Can't say enough about this ALL natural toothpaste/whitener. And YES! It really does whiten after the first use. I have false teeth and it even whitened them several shades whiter. Is messy, but well worth it! My teeth and mouth just feel better and cleaner when I use this compared to using my Himalayan Boutinque toothpaste. Read more

I bought this for the anti-bacterial properties and it helped my gums. The whitening effect was a bonus but my teeth looked a little more yellow than white. It polished my teeth like nothing ever has. I love the fact that the ingredients are all pure with no bad stuff added. It has no taste which is fine with me. It felt a little gritty. The only negative is that it is messy, because it's black as charcoal is. After three weeks I started to develop an allergy and I got sick of cleaning up the mess it causes so I discontinued using it. Read more

I think this toothpaste is pretty effective and that it indeed works. BUT, I am giving it 3 stars instead of 5, and I won't purchase it again for reasons as follows. The tube is made out of a plastic that it too hard for a tube of toothpaste. It is hard to squeeze once the the toothpaste is less than half. So trying to finish the tube and get your money's worth is close to impossible. If you cut the tube open the toothpaste drys hard, fast. Let alone the chips of black it looses everywhere while trying to manipulate it to get toothpaste out. Also, it says mint oil in the ingredient list but there is no mint taste to it, not even faintly. Read more

Happy with my purchase. I have only used the Bamboo Charcoal for a little over a week & teeth do appear to be whiter. Taste is not unpleasant...however, this is very messy! It just takes a "small amount". I would NOT recommend using an electric toothbrush because of the mess it makes and it also turns your toothbrush black. I don't mind the mess, now that I am aware of the amount to use & I keep a sponge ready for clean up. I would recommend this product, just be prepared for the mess! Read more

My teeth feel like I just went to the dentist for a cleaning I have been using it for a few weeks now and can feel a difference in the cleanliness of my teeth. I do notice it also whitened my teeth. Beware it does stain your tongue black for a bit unless you brush your tongue with your toothbrush...but the color does come right out! Read more
