Bliss! So relaxing, I drift off; lithium battery means it travels in carryon, not checked bag

SKGNovember 30, 2025

As a lifelong migraineur, I have always been open to anything that will alleviate the pain of a headache. I have tried the kind of head wraps where you put them in the microwave to warm but wasn't very impressed. I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed using this ibreo Ultra Quiet MG 5 Eye Massager! I had a little bit of issue with the back strap sliding down my hair repeatedly and knocking the mask at an angle, so I end up reclining on the couch for the duration. The combination of relaxed pose, gentle whooshing noises, and blissful massage causes me to drift off for cat naps. I truly appreciate that the massager has an auto shut off so that I don’t have to set a timer and wake myself up. I can’t say that I love having to remove my contact lenses before using this device, but I understand the need to prevent any issues. In the user guide, there’s a list of reasons posted to avoid using the ibreo, and a list of other safety guides and cautions (photo). I've had facials and massages before, but I can't truly say that I ever enjoyed someone else’s hands on me. I like the predictability of this device’s movements, and I appreciate that I’m able to use it anytime I want without booking an appointment. Instructions were very easy to follow, and there is plenty of room for customization of routines. My favorite move on the device is the slow roll up on the temple to where it holds for a few seconds with the pressure. That feels so good! I have dry eyes and have been advised in the past to use warm compresses to help stimulate the eyelid glands. I rarely do the compresses, but turning on the warmth feature for this mask really felt good and I believe that it will help with the dry eyes also, a bonus. I'm grateful that ibreo thoughtfully indented the inside area where the eye sockets are so that the mask doesn't push against my mature brittle lashes. In a slight negative, of the various moves of the massager, there was one move in particular where the edge contracts in the middle at the top, and that move allows a small, annoying bit of light up along both sides of my nose. I’d have liked to continue the whole massage in full darkness, but that is a small gripe. I appreciate that the mask folds in half because I would like to take it with me when I travel but because it has the rechargeable lithium battery, I think I will be required to put in my carry-on and not my checked luggage. I'm thankful that it doesn't take up a lot of space for that reason. The other migraine sufferer in our house, my daughter, usually teases me about my affinity for gadgets but she was intrigued enough to try the massaging mask out herself. I always know when I'm onto a good thing because she sheepishly asks if I will put it somewhere where we can both use it. She has more petite facial features and also experienced a little bit of light leakage around the mask edge, but she said that it wasn't that much of a problem for her. She really liked how the mask felt and how it gave her a relaxed experience. Normally she fights her headaches with an ice mask, but she said the warmth was definitely relaxing to her. I might be looking to purchase an additional ibreo for her when her birthday rolls around so that she can take hers to her apartment. Read more

Temple massage is excellent feature

Dude Dad & Teacher WifeJanuary 10, 2026

My household has tried a few heated eye massagers with mixed success, but this iBreo checks most of the boxes without a big price tag. It's quite sleek looking compared to some of the goofy ones we have tried. Operation is fairly simple while wearing the massager but I do recommend reading the manual. A single press of the buttons changes massage/heat intensity while double-pressing the massage button will change the mode. This can be a little hard to remember but it works. You can set it to eye massage, Temple massage, or both. There is a high and low heat setting and a sleep timer. The massage mode uses air pressure so there's a little nose as the bladders fill and drain but it's quite quiet compared to others we've used. I kind of find the sounds it makes relaxing. My favorite feature is the temple massage. This isn't a common feature on eye massagers and I expected it to be a bit of a gimmick, but it works pretty well. The charge port is located at the bridge of the nose in the folded position so you cannot charge while wearing the device. It comes with a nice carrying bag to keep it from getting dirty when stored. My only complaint is that the bridge of the nose piece is quite hard and usually the bridge of my nose is hurting by the time I'm done. I have a gigantic head so I may be on the upper end of the size range for this and I'm assuming that's why my nose isn't as comfortable as it could be. It's not a deal breaker in my opinion, but something to be aware of. Read more

Relaxing before bed

ElizabethJanuary 23, 2026

I got this eye massager for my daughter. She’s a bit farsighted and often feels tired around her eyes at night, we use it as part of her wind-down time before sleep. She says it feels gentle and cozy, she likes that she can listen to music while wearing it. I tried it myself out of curiosity and ended up using it more than expected. The air compression around the temples feels different from a regular eye mask, in a good way. After long hours on the computer, it helps my eyes feel less tense. The heat is mild, not overwhelming, the timer makes it easy to relax without thinking about it. Read more

It doesn’t feel good to me - the pressure is in the wrong places

One random opinionJanuary 29, 2026

I ordered this heated eye massager because my daughter took my old one with her when she moved out, so this is not my first time using a product like this. I definitely had something to compare it to, and unfortunately this one just did not work for me the way I hoped it would. The unit itself feels solid and it really is very quiet, which I liked. The controls are simple to use and I had no trouble switching between the different modes and intensity levels. My biggest issue is the massage pattern. Instead of most of the pressure focusing around my eyes, the majority of it happens at the temples. When the airbags inflate there, the mask flattens out and pushes down on the bridge of my nose. It already feels tighter in that area compared to my previous eye massager, and that added pressure was uncomfortable for me. I was hoping for headache relief, but it did not help and may have even made my headache worse. The heat feature was fine, but it was not enough to offset the pressure issues. In summary, this eye massager is very quiet and seems well made, but the fit and massage focus did not work for me. I think it may suit someone who prefers strong temple pressure, but it was not a good match for my needs. Read more
