Umbra Metalla 4 75-Gallon 18L Trash Can Matte Brass Look

Seriously, I really like this waste basket. I ordered it for our spare room/office after we moved into a larger apartment; mostly, I don't pay attention to it, but every time I empty it I think about how nice it looks. Our other waste baskets around the house are mostly the ugly white Rubbermaid type things, which are pretty much the same price but don't really "go" with any decor and tend to show dirt, scuffs, etc. all too clearly. This piece would complement most decors and really blends in nicely. It is definitely a bit darker than it looks on my monitor here, but still, very nice. I don't know why I haven't yet replaced the living room waste basket with another one of these, come to think of it. Not really as suitable for a bathroom or kitchen since you'd want to use a bag and it would detract from the elegance of the finish, but perfect for an office waste basket or any other area where you're mostly throwing away things that aren't too messy. It's made of plastic, but I disagree with the reviewer who claims that it "easily changes shape." It's a rigid plastic, and I have yet to do anything to it that would cause it to warp. I love this trash can considering it is for trash afterall. The color is a bronze-gold and looks great with my decor. I have one in my bedroom next to my bed and one in my great room under the coffee table as the kids always have trash out there. It blends in well and you can hardly tell it is for trash. The size is a little bigger than your normal "bath" trash can and i think that is a great feature. The more it can hold the better as far as I am concerned. Umbra is a brand I use all over the house and I think their products are above average as they look great, are well made, sturdy and overall a very good deal. A heavy duty plastic with a matte gold finish. Good size and it looks nice. Who needs, like, a solid gold trash can? No one, that's who. The plastic is thick and tough, it's not like dollar-store plastic. I had the copper colored one and then I was like, "I'm sick of trying to find copper things. Can't find em anywhere." So I got fed up and got sick of copper. I switched to gold, but now if I search "gold" all I can find is "rose gold." Very annoying. This trash can is the only thing that hasn't disappointed me. Was surprised by the size of it. It's bigger than I imaged it would be. The color and simple design fit well into the room we bought if for and will adequately meet our needs. It has three narrow ribs on the inside that connect with the bottom and run about half way up. They seem to add a degree of extra strength to the can. One thing I don't care for about the can is what appears to be some sort of "seam" running the entire height. It's very imperceptible. Love it so far...it didn't come peeling or chipped as other reviews stated...if that changes then I will update my review. I love the size compared to those tiny bathroom trash cans companies normally sell. This one is much bigger. It's not real brass, it's plastic...but the plastic feels pretty sturdy and the brass look is pretty and matches the other gold in my bathroom. I feel it's worth the money I paid for it considering what you pay for other tiny bathroom trash cans that aren't as pretty. Read more

Ordered this waste can for my main bathroom, which has bronze hardware & faucets. This Umbra Metalla 3.5 Gallon Metallic Bronze Waste Can couldn't look better! Excellent price as well! It is a great size, it's less wide and a little taller, giving it a more sophisticated look. Instead of using grocery store plastic bags to line this can, I bought 4 gallon trash bags (which are very cheap) from the grocery store. I bought this to use as a trash can in my living room near my desk and couch. Although it's made of plastic it is rather stylish and has a nice bronze-type of finish. It would work nicely in an area with wood furnishings and is classy for a trash can. It is tall and seemingly sturdy enough that you could use it as an umbrella bin too, I think. As long as you’re aware that this is a plastic can and not metal, and know that there will be minor seams, you’ll be very happy with it. It looks better than my expectations. I didn’t have any scratches on mine, fortunately. I imagine it may scratch easily if you’re really rough with it. Overall it’s a cool looking garbage can. It’s also a nice size.
