A few weeks ago, I got this UA polo shirt for my 10-year-old son. I chose the medium size in Fresco Blue & it fits him perfectly. The fit is nice and slightly loose, which he prefers, so he can move around comfortably whether he's playing or just wearing it casually. The shirt is made of 100% polyester & the fabric feels silky smooth & very comfortable & even though it doesn’t contain any spandex, it still has a slight stretch to it, which helps with movement. One thing I really like about this shirt is that it’s designed as activewear rather than a standard polyester polo. The fabric has open pores that allow airflow, which helps keep him cool, especially here in Florida where it gets pretty hot. It also does a great job wicking sweat and drying quickly since the material doesn’t absorb moisture from sweat, rain, or humidity. Another great feature is the UPF 50+ sun protection, which is a big plus since my son spends a lot of time outdoors. Of course, because it’s short-sleeved, I still have to apply sunscreen on his arms & legs when he wears it with shorts. The only thing to keep in mind is washing care. To maintain the fabric & SPF protection, it’s best to wash it on a cold gentle cycle & tumble dry. Using hot water or high heat can reduce the sun protection & potentially damage the fabric. So far, after several washes following these instructions, the shirt hasn’t shrunk & the colors haven’t faded at all & it still looks just like the day we got it. Overall, my son loves this shirt. It’s stylish, lightweight & very comfortable & its breathable design keeps him from getting too warm. I have had good experience with Under Armour products & this polo shirt definitely lives up to that expectation. I would definitely buy it again. Read more
This is a great shirt for indoor and outdoor activities. It's soft and stretchy, it looks nice (and has a fun pattern), and it's well made. I noticed no quality issues with the shirt which I feel is a rarity with children's clothing produced now. The seams are straight and even, the stitching is perfect with no missed stitches or lose threads, and the color is fully saturated throughout. I do think the cut is meant for a slimmer build as my son who normally wears large found this to be a bit tighter than his other shirts. He still likes it and wears it, maybe the styles have changed since I was a kid and we wanted everything to be "baggy". Unfortunately he doesn't play outside long enough to test the UPF protection, but the clothing is not the least bit transparent so I assume the sun protection claim is accurate. The shirt washes fine in cold water and when dried in low heat it came out looking great with no wrinkles or creases. It's a name brand shirt so it wasn't the cheapest kids polo (at the time of this review), but it wasn't expensive either and given the high quality of the shirt I believe it's a solid value buy. This is an awesome outdoor and fishing shirt for kids. I love that it has the fishing lures all over it, which make it so much fun for them. My son loves this shirt a lot. I do wish they would add a sizing chart, but for those who are wondering: I ordered a small and that is good for maybe a 4-5 year old. So if you are ordering this for an older child, you want to order it for maybe the Medium or even the large. That said, it fits just fine for that size and it is very easy to wash and keep clean, especially if you are using it for outdoor activity. It is not the softest shirt because it is the athletic material that you normally get with UnderArmour brand, but this is a great price for Under Armour so i do think this is a good product to get, and you know they have a good reputation for long lasting quality. I picked this up for my 8-year-old son because we spend a lot of time outdoors and I wanted something more substantial than a basic t-shirt. The UPF 50+ rating is the standout feature here. It saves me from the constant battle of reapplying sunscreen to his back and shoulders every hour, which is worth the price alone. The fabric is exactly what you’d expect from the Under Armour outdoor line—very lightweight and slick enough that it doesn't snag easily on gear or brush. He’s already put it to the test near the water, and even after getting splashed, the shirt was dry in about twenty minutes. It doesn't get heavy or clingy when it’s humid out, which keeps him from complaining about being hot while we’re out. The fit is spot on for his age group. It has enough room through the chest for him to move around comfortably without looking baggie or sloppy. It also cleans up surprisingly well; after a full day of dirt and fish water, it came out of the wash looking brand new with no pilling around the collar. This Under Armour boys' shirt is great! I got this shirt for my nine year old son and it fits him perfectly. It runs true to size and is very soft and comfortable to wear. This shirt is a beautiful color too! It's nice and vibrant, just like the photos from the advertisement. It also feels very well-made and durable.
