The fabric is thick but not to thick that makes it unbelievably stiff and doesn't shrink once washed. The overall quality has been keeping me warm but I feel like it could've been better. So of course like many items I get I get them for work purpose. This works when my building is cold but when winter rolls around a cold building vs nature are incomparable. Nature seems to blow through this material like it's nothing. I believe this product you'll get your moneys worth for how much it cost. I have UA Base 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 and they are truly amazing garments. If you've never owned a good base layer, you might not realize just how useful they are and why you would want different grades. In the winter (or if you're inclined to visit the snow for fun) these garments allow you to have a core layer of warmth that also wicks away sweat under active usage. The higher number, the more warmth retention (and the higher the price, for a reason that escapes me). I wear my 2.0 under normal jeans when the temp drops below 50, 3.0 for below 30, and the 4.0 below 10. Paired with a quality cordura shell, I wear just the UA Base and the shell in almost all snow sports conditions and I'm dry and comfortable in a way that cannot be obtained otherwise. Cautionaries: 1) As with all wicking fabrics, these will "smell" quickly when you sweat (all non-silvered wicking fabrics do this) - washing with a capful of pre-diluted clorox makes them perfect, IMHO 2) While the outer fabric layer doesn't naturally pill, it will if you rub it against something abrasive, such as rough belt or velcro... do not wash with anything bearing exposed "rough" velcro. 3) Try them on first - they should feel like tights. Bought this and the leggings. I'll admit paying $140 is alot but I'm sure glad I have it. I'm someone who can't stand being cold, but works outside year round. It's not bulky like a sweatshirt but provides the same amount of warmth. Bonus point for having loops and the ends of the sleeves to put in the crook of your thumb so the sleeves don't ride up over time. My wing span is 68in and I feel like that is the very edge of them being comfortable enough to use. Any longer and they'll start digging in and be uncomfortable. Have them saved incase of any sales that pop up in the future to order more. Read more
