I had no idea heated jackets were even a thing until this vest popped up in my feed, and let me tell you, it was an impulse buy I absolutely do not regret. Within a week of owning it, we hit an unexpected cold snap where I live. It’s too early in the season to crank up the heat, so I’ve been living in this vest ever since. What I Love: - Fit & Finish: The vest fits beautifully and looks well made. It is made with polyester and has a light cotton inside for added thickness. Not too much, but enough. The zipper design is unconventional (teeth on the inside, flat side out), but clearly intentional and not a design flaw so the functionality works. - Custom Heat Zones: I love being able to adjust the temperature and even set different levels for the front and back. It’s like having a personal climate control system. - Discreet Heating Elements: You’d never know it’s a heated vest unless someone told you. Sleek and subtle. - Stylish Edge: The pop of red adds flair without sacrificing class. It’s true to size, so order your regular fit for optimal warmth. I sized up (habitually) and it still works, but a snugger fit would’ve been ideal. - Bonus Battery: The included lithium battery doubles as a phone charger. Huge win! Plus, there’s a hidden inner pocket to stash the battery and cable. Smart design. - Machine Washable: Yes, you read that right. Just remove the battery and reapply the USB rubber protector before tossing it in the wash. (Note: it says to use a mesh laundry bag, but mine didn’t come with one.) Room for Improvement: - No heating coils at the front chest area, which I missed on windy walks. - The control button lights up on the top left which is visible and a bit awkward if around people. I’d prefer it tucked inside or lower down on the vest for a bit more of a discreet look. - Battery confusion: It’s hard to tell when it’s truly off. I accidentally left it on and drained it fast. Just remember to turn off the vest and the battery before removing the battery. - Battery life vs. claims: On high heat (front + back), I got about 3 hours. Lower settings will stretch it further, but much less than the claims. - Charging time: It takes about 2 to 3 hours to fully recharge. - Care instructions: The manual has some odd phrasing (“DO NOT leave the strings plucked”? What does that even mean? And what is a "gene"?). Also, no mesh bag included despite the recommendation to use it. Overall, this vest is a game changer for me on those chilly days when I need to get outside or even just lounging in the house. No weather is too cold for me now. If it's not windy, not too cold, then this would fine. The size was as ordered. It is a comfortable vest but of a thin material that could use an over coat or windbreaker on top. The buttons work nicely to adjust the two groups of heater elements and the battery, which takes many hours to charge, plugs in easily and ran for several hours on medium. I just sat out all evening on my chilly front porch handing out candy to trick-or-treaters and did I stay warm and comfy? Why yes, yes I did because of this awesome heated vest. I did size up so I had room to layer bulkier hoodies or sweaters underneath and I'm glad I did. I'm normally a size small but as you can see in the photo, a medium didn't look overly large and it worked well layered with a hoodie. The vest itself is a medium weight or thickness and not bulky at all. I appreciate that it comes down to my hips and covers my core completely. For the heating aspects. I love that the entire back has warming panels and no cold spots. The "belly" panels are actually perfectly located to keep the front pockets nice and warm for cold hands. If you happen to have tension on your upper back like I do at times, you'll find that wearing this indoors sitting in the couch is a dream too. The only small annoyance is the location of the battery pocket. It is an oversized square pocket and the rectangular battery continues to settle down towards my hip area. I wish the pocket was smaller and more towards the front to keep the battery secure and in place. In general, having a power bank battery like this is so useful. It lasts a long time and you can charge your phone off of it in a pinch. The battery charges on a USB C just like most phones so it's easy to charge. Overall, this is an attractive vest that does a terrific job and I'm glad to have it. It may be a tad overpriced at almost $100 though. 1 star off for price and pocket issues. Read more
