Worth every penny
I want to review this razor. I was skeptical when I ordered it. I have used straight razors almost exclusively for years and years. I have always tended to use restored vintage razors from England or Germany. I recently found myself in need of a new razor, and I figured, 'what the heck, it's only 14 bucks'. First, I will say the razor is not exceptional. There is nothing stamped on the tang. The scales are very basic. When I received it, it was sharp enough to trim through hairs. But half the joy of receiving a new razor is honing it. My hones are flat, super flat. When I started honing this razor, I noticed right away that the bevel was not straight and flat. It took a considerable amount of time to set a new bevel and get it honed properly. But that is to it's credit. It is very hard steel. I am certain that this razor will serve me well for many years. Although it wasn't perfect, or anything exceptional, I think that it was an outstanding value. I could spend a week restoring a vintage razor (that might cost ten times as much), or I can spend a few hours to hone this razor that costs 14 bucks. Read more
