This hoodie is perfect for the hot blazing sun that we have in Texas (or anywhere anymore). We have learned to not work outside without long sleeves in the summer & this shirt is super lightweight material that will be perfect for those days. The hoodie part is nice to protect your neck & head from sunburns. This will be a favorite very soon. We have already had a few days where it was almost 90° & it is mid February. Great fit! I used the size chart and ordered based on my 42 inch chest. Large was spot on perfect and very comfy. I wore it outside for a walk right away to test it out.... it breathed really well and I was sweaty but didn't feel wet. I was also totally protected from the sun, which was out in full effect. As far as the design goes, it's not overly baggy, which I like, and also includes thumb holes to keep it down, but it can be rolled up on the forearms and stays put. There's a decent level of stretch too, but it doesn't feel like a workout shirt... you can tell it's for outdoor activities like fishing, boating, or watersports. The attached hoodie provides added neck protection and offers full coverage while still being lightweight and not in the way. It was only available in one color, so I can't speak to anything other than this light gray, which does show some sweat or signs of being wet, but it also dries really fast, and shouldn't be much of an issue. 5 stars for a great fit and being really comfy and versatile for being active. I am always looking for good sun shirts because I live in a sunny area and like to spend a lot of time outdoors. This UPF rash guard hoodie is an incredible value. The price is much better than comparable sun hoodies and the quality is the same or better than others I own. The fit is perfect - the XXL is long and straight rather than wide and short. It looks really good on. The neck opening is just right. I find other sun hoodies to have neck openings that are either too tight to be comfortable or too loose to offer enough sun protection, but this one is perfect. I also like the hood because it protects the back of my neck. The sleeves are long with thumbholes, so the back of my hand is protected, too. I have not worn it on a hot day yet because it is winter, but the fabric feels cool and breathes better than some others I own. This would be a perfect sun hoodie to spray with permethrin insect repellant and wear every day on the Appalachian Trail. It would also be great for day hikes, fishing, and water activities. This shirt is lightweight, comfortable, and does not cause me to overheat while out on the water fishing. I like the integrated UV protective hood as well as the arm cuff thumb slots. I will be using this shirt for two things only which is kayak fishing and working on my roof in the summer. When I ordered the shirt I thought it might actually work as rash guard and would be great for surfing in trunks and protect my arms and head from UV burn. But unfortunately the fit is a bit too loose for paddling or swimming. I thought of ordering a second one in a smaller size but I still think the arms and stomach/rib cage area would be too loose and drag a lot of water. I wear size XL and ordered XL and it fits as it should. I'm very happy with this shirt and if they decide to make one designed specifically for surfing I'll definitely order another one. Long days on the water with direct UV plus reflected off the water make a protective long sleeve with a hood a must. Read more

I've used shirts like this for years for swimming in the sun. This brand is a good, durable material and the size is accurate. For swimming you should buy a slightly larger shirt because it clings to the body when wet and, for some people, is difficult to get off without help. The hood is new for me. The hood is a little loose but I wear a cap to hold it in place. It could use a drawstring. The hood prevents sunburn on the back of the neck. Even with daily swimming, the UPF 50 lasts months before you have to wash it in a PF soap. If you buy it a little large it is good for tennis. I gave it four stars because it dosen't have a drawstring on the hood. Otherwise it's a five-star product. Read more

My husband is obsessed with this shirt. He loves using shirts like this when he's mowing the lawn and doing yardwork because he doesn't have to slather in nearly as much sunscreen and it stays nice and cool and breathable. He is a tall guy with a long body so 2XL tall fits him best or 3X if it isn't available. We took the chance and tried the 2X, hoping it would be long enough and it was thankfully. It's nice and lightweight. Like I said, the fabric is breathable. I love that it has a hood on there and my husband likes having the thumb holes. This is an extremely good value as well. My husband has had some skin cancer issues so he wears these sun protection shirts all the time. He really likes this one because it is so lightweight and will be comfortable even in a Texas summer. These shirts are kind of funny; you can get them inexpensively like this one or you can spend a lot on some of the brand name ones. No reason to spend the big bucks when you can get a well made shirt that protects you at a reasonable price like this. I was hoping to see some other colors, hopefully they will come back in stock soon. I ordered his usually size and the fit is great (not even too tight on his belly, lol).
