At first, I wasn’t sure if I had made the right choice in purchasing this item. For starters, I have an iPhone 11, and though I had done plenty of research before ordering this emergency radio, I initially felt that I needed to return it. But after taking some time to investigate it, I realized that my purchase was really not a mistake and was actually pretty beneficial. Basically, the radio should be plugged into a port or placed under direct sunlight so that the battery can be charged. Then, after the battery is charged, it can be used to charge your iPhone since the device has a port that accommodates the iPhone charger plug. That being said, this hand-crank radio is small in size—its five-inch rectangular frame fits very easily inside the palm of one hand, so it’s pretty convenient for carriage. It also has a small antenna that stretches out a full 10 inches to increase the reception, if needed. The sound is nice and clear once the dial finds a good frequency, and there are about four of five of them. As for the flashlight, the beam is clear and sufficiently bright. All in all, this little gadget serves its purpose and works pretty well, so I would give it two thumbs up. Read more

Have purchased several of these emergency radios from various manufacturers, and other than having an SOS button, no matter the brand, they're pretty much all alike, giving decent light, reasonably good LOC radio reception, with excellent NOAA (WB) reception. The radio even charges phones well enough to make a few quick emergency phone calls. Alway carried mini LED flashlights in case of city blackouts (we've had 4), but post September 11th in NYC, have been giving emergency radios as stocking stuffers to friends and relatives, just in case, to carry in their cars, bags, or knapsacks. Many small emergency radios claim to have SOS alarms, but we have never ever found one except in the more expensive models. This model only mentions the SOS button once (only on the "Yellow" radio), in passing, in their description. Found one of these smaller models in a drawer, tested it to see if it were charged, and accidentally set off one of the most satisfyingly obnoxious loud noises I've heard in a very long time (under the awkward feeling black on/off switch), which is exactly what you want from an SOS Alarm. We own several of these radios and they tend to survive for at least 3 years of regular weekly use and electrical charging, then, one day it simply stops working. My cousin only charges her radios using the solar charger, and are kept fully charged because she keeps the radios in a sunny window whenever they're not in use, otherwise, a complete charge using only solar takes about 24 hours of sunlight. She has used the radios to give her IPhone a charge to call relatives when she has undergoing weather related blackouts, some of which have lasted for as many 2 days. Now, she has started giving these radios to her friends as practical gifts too. Read more

It's a good product but the only thing that I would've liked it to have is a headphone porthole but other than that I like it and it's really cheap and useful. :D Read more
