This crystal-clear heavy-duty chair mat is fantastic. The 1/5" thickness makes it extremely sturdy, and it doesn’t bend or crack like cheaper mats. It stays perfectly in place on my floor, and my chair rolls smoothly without sinking in. I also love that it’s truly clear—it blends right in and doesn’t hide my flooring. The size is generous and provides plenty of room to move around. Excellent quality and definitely worth the investment! Read more

This is a great chair mat, had one that comes rolled up and chair legs would make depressions and get kinda stuck. It would also creep across the carpet even with the plastic spikes on the backside. This one rolls freely, is staying in place so far and looks great. It does have very sharp edges which may or may not be a problem. I used a simple $10 deburring tool which worked great to put a nice little chamfer on the top and botton edges which makes it much, much nicer to handle and run your foot over. Hopefully it holds up but so far I'd say it's much nicer than the roll up types. Read more

Like many others, during the COVID lockdown I began working remotely and needed to build a home office. The kids are all grown and moved out on their own now, so we turned our daughter's room into an office/spare bedroom. We redeorated, painted and got new carpeting. I was looking for a carpet protector but didn't want one of those thin plastic carpet protectors with the spikes on the bottom - been there, done that, and it seems like those get discolored, crack easily and don't last long. I saw this one and it looked thick enough. It had overall great reviews and the description said it was more durable than tempered glass and can withstand up to 1200 pounds of pressure. I'm not a small man, but nowhere even remotely close to 1200 pounds! So I bought one, and it was really great! It was crystal clear, the carpet looked great underneath, and my chair rolled on it perfectly. It didn't seem to scuff with my chair rollers and I was very happy with it. One thing I found was it did tend to move around a bit on the carpet - not really noticeably while sitting on it, but over the course of a few hours I would look and it has moved away from the desk a couple inches. I just moved it back in place and it didn't bother me. One day I was sitting down and dropped something on the floor and bent down to pick it up and I heard a sound like something had snapped. I looked around and didn't see anything and didn't think much about it. A bit later I heard it again and that's when I saw a small crack developing in the floor protector. It had been about 6 months since I bought it so I was not able to return it to Amazon. I tried to contact the seller since the product description said it came with a 12 month warranty, but I could not find the contact information for the seller. I called Amazon and they agreed to let me return it after all and I ordered a new one. Same experience - it worked well and everything was fine...again for about 6 months. The floor protector cracked again, and this time it was much more noticeable. I decided just to keep it because the cracks didn't seem to affect the chair rolling on it and I didn't want the hassle of trying to return it again, especially since when I returned the first one I had to pack it in cardboard before the UPS store would send it, since this is solid and doesn't fold up. Well, the cracks over the past couple weeks have gotten worse so I'm going to have to find something else. Overall it seems like most people have had great experiences with this product, and so did I for a while. Too bad it didn't last for as long as I hoped. Read more

The nicest and best carpet protector I've used. It's basically a big slab of plastic, but it's very strong (I'm a heavy guy) and it barely deflects. Yes the surface will get scratches over time, but anything will if you're rolling a chair on it. Recommended. Read more

Crystal Clear and Built to Last This chair mat impressed me right away with its clarity—it’s practically invisible once laid down, so the look of the carpet or hardwood underneath still shows through. The 1.5 mm thickness strikes a good balance: sturdy enough to handle daily rolling of an office chair without warping, yet not so heavy that it’s difficult to move or reposition. Unlike some mats that curl or crack over time, this one lays flat and stays put, which really helps maintain a clean look in the office. I tested it on both a medium-pile carpet and hardwood floor, and it performed well in both settings. On carpet, the mat provides a smooth surface for rolling without sinking in or bunching. On hardwood, it protects against scuffs and scratches while keeping the chair glide easy and consistent. The edges are smooth, so there’s no risk of snagging socks or scratching bare feet. One thing to keep in mind: while the mat is heavy duty, it’s still best to avoid sharp impacts or dragging furniture across it, as that could leave marks. It also arrived rolled up but flattened out fully within a short time, which was a pleasant surprise compared to cheaper mats that take days. Bottom line: A well-made, clear, and reliable chair mat that blends into the room while protecting your floors and making rolling around effortless. Read more

I put this on medium carpet, and I suspect the stress of that constant slight flex into the carpet from the office chair wheels eventually led to a crack. Once cracked it just got bigger. And of course it slid around easily, having no nubs to dig into the carpet. I eventually put some velcro on it, which was ugly but helped. Regardless of it breaking or sliding, the thickness made it annoying. One wheel on my chair was always slipping off, and then it wouldn't easily roll back on, depending on the (fairly random) alignment of the wheel with the steep edge of the mat. So it was about 2 years of futzing around with that. For what it is, it's well made. It would be better with a beveled edge (though presumably that edge would be vulnerable to cracking/splitting) and/or some optional grips to help it stay put on carpet. Overall, I wouldn't buy it again, either for use on carpet (sliding, cracking) or for any type of floor (wheels off and on). Read more
