I really love this piece. It looks elegant on, while still being comfortable. Perfect weight, not too heavy and hot, but not flimsy either. I ordered a 2X, and I'm glad I did. I'm 5'5" 190 lbs, usually wear size 18, and wanted to make sure it wouldn't be too tight over a top or dress. I woul've had to return a 1X. I ordered black, and can use it from everything from a Halloween costume piece to a date. It doesn't look costumey at all, just classy and feminine, I'm tempted to buy another in a different color. This jacket is really pretty and made incredibly well, however it seems to run large. I am 5'7" and typically wear a dress size 10/12. I have a 34G bust size so I was worried about this not fitting well if I sized it too small. The size guide says that the large measures 41 inches around the chest so I figured that was a safe bet. However upon receiving it, it seems like it has a lot more room than that. I can easily close it over my chest with ample room to spare and it was also a bit baggy in the arms and shoulders which made me look frumpy wearing it. I am sending it back and will order it again in a medium this time. It is made in a looser cut and the fabric is very stretchy too. You may want to go down a size in this item. Read more

This is a very flattering fit! The color is rich and beautiful, and it is very soft to the touch. Not heavy but heavy enough that it will be the perfect layer for a cool Floridian winter day or evening. I also ordered the wine color and can't wait for that to come in. Read more

Pros: This item was soft and moderately warm. The color was vibrant. Cons: The sewing was uneven and looked sloppy in parts in the front. Also, I noticed that the velvet was sewn on in a direction so that the shiny side shows- in other words, if you run your hands down, it feels smooth whereas if you run your hands upward, you feel resistance. In my opinion, this gave it a cheaper look. I saw a very similar product from a different company where the velvet was sewn at 180 degrees so that you see the richer, matte velvet look. I really like these - as a broad shouldered, larger busted, narrow waisted tall girl, it can be difficult to find a casual button down that fits nicely - if it fits my chest and shoulders, it's going to make me look huge around the middle and if it fits my ribcage and waist, it won't button or gaps at the top. These are a nice jersey material (a little thicker than a t-shirt) so it's a lot more forgiving than a cotton or flannel, plus it's super breathable and not particularly wrinkly (I just throw them on a hanger straight out of the dryer and they're all set). I got L & XL and they both work for me (I'm 5'9" - muscular with a 38DD chest) - big enough up top to fit without a stretch (a little more stretch in the large, but not bad) and you can see my waist (the length is nice as well). They're super flattering without looking like you're trying too hard - I bought several more after receiving my first one. Apart from being excellent for my particular build, I would think that they would flatter most womens figures because the material is so forgiving. Be aware that the pattern is printed/dyed into the the material, not woven in like a cotton or flannel shirt - it looks fine and I don't mind it at all, but still good to know. Read more
