Follow unpacking instructions. The material had an odor but once you wash the linens according to the instructions then wash them again with your favorite detergent. I let mine soak in the vinegar and baking soda wash for several hours before turning the wash back on then I dried them once dried I washed them in Gain. I had been looking for quality, all-cotton sheets in a true navy for about 2 years to coordinate with a navy upholstered headboard. After ordering/purchasing at least a dozen sets from Amazon and brick-and-mortar stores, then returning because the color was off, they were too scratchy or were not actually 100% cotton, I have found a winner. The color is the perfect, deeply saturated navy blue, the sheets are soft with just a hint of a satiny texture, and they wash up beautifully. I also line that they fit tightly to my pillow top Queen mattress-- no bunching or runching after a night's sleep. One small critique -- they do wrinkle a but, even right out of the warm dryer. I am going to experiment with my dryer settings.to see if maybe medium heat is a bit too hot for these sheets. These sheets are very pretty and they match my blush quilt set and curtains perfectly; HOWEVER - the odor of the sheets is EXTEMELY HORRIBLE, so horrible I took the box they were in and delivered in outside immediately. It made me worry if they had embalming fluid on them or something of that nature - they REALLY stunk!!!! I loved the looks of the sheets so much and they felt really good, so I thought I would wash them, put sanitizer, laundry freshener and softner in the machine, then when I dried them I put 2 of those mega size Bounce Pet hair guard dryer sheets in the dryer with them and see how they would come out. The odor did come out, but they are NOT as soft as they were before I washed them. I would not buy these again and probably would not buy anything made from this manufacturer again. I probably should have sent them back, but I really loved the looks of them - that's sad I know because I should have took the odor into consideration more than the looks. Read more

I just received these sheets (and pillow cases) so I can't say how well they will wear over time. So my review is just based on the quality out of the packaging. I am picky about sheets. I have purchased so many sets and been disappointed. I recall the sheets I had as a child: thick, strong, durable and heavy. I believe they could have lasted so long that I could have passed them down to the next generation. I had no idea that decades later, I'd find it impossible to find that same quality for purchase. These sheets from Urbanhut are NOT the same quality. People nowadays want "softness" . . . that is to say, the "hand" must feel silky. That is not what I care about. I care about thickness and durability. I HATE thin sheets that feel like they'll tear, no matter how "silky" they feel. Urbanhut seems to have found the middle ground between thick and silky. These sheets are heavier than most sets, very substantial. The sewing is also fine. I think these will last and satisfy me. And they are "soft" without being thin. I'll update this review after I use them for a month or two. But I do think I've found the holy grail of sheet sets. They are also reasonably priced so I can buy them in various colors.
