Kitchen Chair—December 24, 2025
Let’s address the elephant in the room right off the bat…this sweater is not conventionally attractive. And yet, I absolutely love it. It’s funky, a little ugly, and very 80s in the best way. It feels nostalgic, and like something I’d grab off the back of a chair and live in all winter. I didn’t order this thinking it was going to be a fashion moment. I ordered it to be a cozy, throw-on-around-the-house sweater, and it does that job perfectly. The knit is heavy and warm, and the red and white colors are bright and bold. The stitching on the inside isn’t the tightest, but it’s also not messy or unraveling. Do take note that the front has small checkerboard and the back has much larger color blocks, so it’s not the same pattern all the way around. There are also no buttons, it’s open front only. Sizing runs oversized. I ordered a medium and I’m super happy with it for a relaxed, slouchy fit, but I could’ve sized down to a small if I wanted something more fitted. Read more

The very first thing I noticed about this cardigan is that it has no buttons. It's a feature, not a flaw. It's an open front style that you can grab and go, no fuss. I threw it on and walked out the door feeling pulled together. The color is vibrant. Not shy. Not muted. This cardigan announces that you have arrived. I wore it during the holidays and felt like I was competing with Santa Claus and holding my own. If you like color that shows up and shows off, this one delivers. The fabric is soft to the touch and lightweight enough to wear comfortably in warm weather. I paired it with a sleeveless dress on a 72-degree day, and it was perfect for covering my shoulders without feeling bulky or heavy. It adds just enough warmth to take the edge off air conditioning while still feeling breathable. In terms of length, it falls just below the hips, which makes it flattering. The XL size is not restrictive for a size 18, and it drapes nicely below the hips without clinging. It gives coverage without overwhelming. The bold color, soft feel, and versatile styling make it an easy win for birthday gifts, holidays, or anyone who loves statement layers. You’re getting softness, warmth, vibrant color, and a versatile length. It’s the kind of cardigan you reach for without thinking, and those are usually the best ones. Read more

I wore this Urchics open-front chunky knit cardigan out last night, and it turned out to be perfect for fall weather. It provided just the right amount of warmth without feeling heavy or bulky, making it comfortable to wear throughout the evening. Comfort & fit: The sweater is soft and comfortable, with a relaxed fit that layers easily over other clothing. The chunky knit feels cozy but breathable, so I didn’t feel overheated once indoors. It drapes nicely and moves well, rather than feeling stiff. Style & design: The red and white checkered pattern is what really makes this cardigan stand out. The colors are vibrant and eye-catching, and the design adds a stylish pop without being too loud. It works well dressed up or worn casually, and the open-front style makes it easy to throw on and go. Overall impression: This is a great fall cardigan for transitional weather—comfortable, warm, and stylish. If you’re looking for a cozy sweater that adds color and personality while still being easy to wear, this one fits the bill nicely. Read more

This sweater is not the sort of thing I usually wear, but I decided to get it anyway, even though the only color left in stock was red. I was worried about the red color being a little bit bold for me, and it is, but I don't even care because the thing is: This sweater is very, very cozy. I really wasn't sure what to expect in terms of material or anything, and I'm very pleasantly surprised at how soft and comfy this one is. The size is accurate, and I ordered a large for a bit of an oversized feel, which is nice. It's also not a specifically Christmas item, even though it's red, so I'm happy that I can wear it all winter long. The only thing that I think is a little bit odd is that the seams on the sleeves make it look a bit like the sweater is inside out. I had to check to make sure it wasn't when I first tried it on. I guess it's meant to give a little bit of character, but I don't love that aspect. I also don't love the different pattern on the back, but that's not a huge deal. Overall, I'm happier than I thought I'd be with this item. Read more

Did not arrive as pictured. The multicolor trim (shown on listing as solid red) really de elvates the color block look. Wouldn't have ordered had the materal been correctly displayed on photo. Looks cheap. Materal is a softish chunky mid grade thickness loose knit, snags very easily an came covered in loose threads. Kinda let down not worth $30. Ordered medium but small would have been better. Runs large. Read more
