Sobre este artículo

  • Plug-and-Play OBD Power: Instant install OBD2 to USB-C power cable for any dash cam. No wire cutting, no fuse box, no risk to your car’s circuit or warranty. A cost-effective, removable solution for dash cam hardwire kit setups.
  • Smart Driver Detection: Built-in motion sensor accurately identifies driving vs. parking mode—far fewer false triggers than ACC or voltage detection alone. Your hard wire kit for dash cam always enters the correct mode.
  • 24/7 Parking Mode: This OBD power cable keeps your dash cam recording after engine-off for full-time parking surveillance. Built-in low voltage protection prevents car-battery drain.
  • 10FT Long Cable: Extra-long flexible cable allows easy hidden routing along the dash and A-pillar. Keeps your cabin tidy and frees the cigarette lighter port for other devices.
  • Wide Compatibility: USB-C output with 5V/3A 15W stable power supports 4K and dual-channel dash cams without restarts or black screens. Compatible with Vantrue, Redtiger, Wolfbox, Viofo, Rove, Pioneer and most mainstream dash cam brands.
  • Note: This hardwire kit is compatible with most 12–24V vehicles (cars, SUVs, trucks, vans, and commercial fleets), but not for EVs with intelligent battery management systems.

Not just for dash cams, should work with any low power usb-c 5v device.

I will rate this subjectively. To me, it's a 4, maybe 3. To you, it might be a 5, depending on why you want it. The thing you will notice about my reviews is that i don't ramble on the same pointless, fake, fluffed, general lack of any useful information reviews that are all too common.... First, it works. It does what it says. But, feels super cheap. It says 3amp 5v but I dont see how. Thin, very long wire. (Good and bad) It is simple 2 pins that tap the OBD2 connector for +12v and ground. The plug is not very snug, pins not very good quality, it to me is a temporary solution. It should work with any low power 5v usb-c device, not limited to dash cams. So why do you want this? For $20 on sale, if you are trying to free up a lighter socket, don't. It will be less secure, and still pokes out and hangs under your dash. Most OBD2 ports I have seen are not tucked away, they are front and center for easy access. It could come loose or fall off easily as well. Do you want it for the auto-off and battery protection? Then OK, fair enough. BUT, it taps the constant 12v (On purpose, for a reason) and leaving it plugged in with voltage monitor electronics (very small parasitic draw) for long periods of time could drain your battery (Like leaving a phone charger plugged into always on cig socket for long periods). It will not start working until it sees a higher charging voltage - Meanin, turning your key on or to ACC will not power on the device. the vehicle must be started first. Then, once turned off and voltage drops, it will go to countdown mode or until voltage is under the level setting from the switches, and turn off. It could be easily modded or wired to a fuse tap instead of using obd2 port if you so desired. It is not for me, I won't be using it for its intended purpose. You might. For me, it isn't worth the price to be so "China", to you it might be the ultimate shortcut. Again, it does what it says. It works fine. I wouldn't trust 3amps though - just speculation, i have no merit to challenge that other than observation. - The wire says "22awg", but is it copper? Aluminum? Assuming it is CU and really 22awg, the wire is 9.5ft long, so 5v voltage drop across the wire at "3amps" would heat the wire and only deliver 4volts at the connector. 'Just sayin... Many photos posted of length and size. Read more

Easiest Kit for Dashcam Parking Mode - Tested & Verified!

I’ve installed several dash cams using various methods—from cigarette lighter adapters to piggybacking fuses. While fuse-tapping is effective, it’s often intimidating for DIYers. This VibeXtr OBD Power Cable is the perfect middle ground: it offers the professional "hidden wire" look and 24/7 parking mode without the need to touch a fuse box. Why choose OBD? If you want parking surveillance, a standard cigarette lighter plug won’t work (it kills power when the car is off). Hardwiring to the battery is a chore. This kit plugs directly into your OBD2 port, making it a "plug-and-play" solution that still provides the constant power needed for security recording. It’s ideal for those who aren’t comfortable with car wiring or for leased vehicles where you don't want to mess with the electronics. Technical Performance & Testing: I tested this on both a 1996 Toyota Tacoma and a 2015 Nissan Rogue using a Redtiger 4K cam. Unlike cheaper cables, this one is genuinely "smart." * ACC Detection: It accurately senses when the engine is running (by detecting >13V from the alternator). * The 5-Minute Rule: In gas mode, it keeps the camera fully powered for 5 minutes after the engine stops before switching to "Parking Mode." I verified this with a stopwatch—it worked perfectly every time. * Battery Protection: I performed a "drain test" while monitoring with a voltmeter. With the cutoff set to 12.0V, the kit successfully killed power to the camera once the battery dipped below that limit for 5 minutes, ensuring I could still start my car the next morning. Standout Features: * EV Compatibility: It includes a microwave radar sensor to detect driver presence—a brilliant inclusion for EVs that don't have a traditional alternator voltage spike to signal the "engine" is on. * Customizable Cutoffs: You can choose between 11.6V, 12.0V, or 12.4V. This is huge for cold climates where you need a higher resting voltage to crank the engine. * Build Quality: The 10ft cable is plenty long for routing behind the A-pillar, and the instructions are surprisingly clear and thorough. One Minor Trade-off: The only downside is that it occupies your OBD port. If you use a Bluetooth diagnostic dongle or an insurance tracker, you’ll have to unplug the camera to use them. A "pass-through" design would make this perfect, but for 95% of drivers, this is a non-issue. Bottom Line: It does exactly what it says it does. It’s a reliable, safe, and sophisticated power solution that protects your battery while keeping your car guarded while you're away. Read more
