I got this for my 2026 Toyota Prius and so far it works great! It’s basically plug and play. It worked with a normal pressed CD and an audio CD-r. I have some CDs that are not available via streaming platforms, so it’s really helpful to be able to listen to them in the car. This utilizes the USB-C port for the Prius (there’s only one for direct input. Don’t try to plug this into a charging port.) The car does not recognize the cd player until you insert a cd. Then it comes up as USB media. You can control playback, skipping, etc from the car’s touchscreen. I have only used this CD player maybe 6 times. I have it a little over one year. In a word; junk. Very disappointed. Greatly missing my CD player in my '21 4Runner, I decided to buy this portable. It seemed to work fine at first but after the 3rd road it started acting up. It would skip for no reason or not play at all. Unplugging and then plugging it back in worked but then after a while the same issues. When it did play I would bump it a few times and didn't skip at all so the cause is unknown and erratic. When it doesn't play, the disc spins and spins. The last straw is I cannot retrieve my CD and the player is not recognized on my car USB port. I tried it on my computer at home and it has the same issue. DO NOT BUY this product. If you do (and I didn't) and plan on light use to regular use, buy the extended warranty which is generally a waste of money on anything other than a large purchase. I have a 2018 Honda Accord and the wife drives a 2023 Lexus ES300H. Neither has a CD player and when Amazon offered this one for $86 I thought I would grab one. It immediately failed in my Honda. It turned on, sped through track numbers, but no audio. It was successful in the Lexus. It showed the different rack numbers and played beautifully. And for those who question it, yes, it does play through the car's audio system. It would be great if the manufacturer listed compatible vehicles. They don't so here's a word of caution. When you receive it TEST IT IMMEDIATELY. If it doesn't work, quickly return it via Amazon. I believe the return policy is 30 days from the receipt of the product. It is easy to hook up - just plug it into the USB port that allows for data transfer (the Lexus has 3 USB ports but only one allows for data transfer). It will show "Track 1, Track 2 " etc. but it will not provide the title of the song or the title of the CD. Not a game breaker but you should be aware of this. It seems decently made (let's face it - like almost everything else, it is from China). A small velcro patch is provided for mounting but considering the weight and size I believe a larger patch will be needed if you intend to mount it vertically. Read more
This has one button: eject. Plug it into your car's USB connection and everything else is on the screen. No interruptions as you bump over winter's potholes. Surprisingly easy and affordable. The only negative is that it took a few tries to get it to work. That was probably because of the Toyota Corolla software. Once you nail it, it's insanely easy to use. Also, both Toyota and OAUW suggest that you do not leave the player in the car because of high heat in the summer. Don't worry about taking it with you; the clever device remembers where you were when you return. Read more

The one "down side" to my 2023 Mini Countryman was . . . no CD player! I love to listen to books on CD (and yes, I do Audible too). And I didn't want to add ANOTHER permenent machine into my car -- thought it would look tacky or be hard to coordinate. So when my dear husband found this, I was happy, but very skeptical that it would be as simple as it sounded. Boy, was I surprised! It actually, totally, really is just plug in via the USB port, put the CD in and play!! I think it sounds great; so far no skipping and the sound quality is great. The only "complaint" would be that the cord is short and limits where you can place the player. So far it's been on the passenger seat. But I think I can mount it with the big piece of velcro that comes with it, on the side of the footwell, fairly out of the way. I don't use it with a GPS so I can't comment on that. One weird thing to watch out for: If you leave the USB plugged in, when you turn your car off, the music goes off, which is good. However, the light remains on, on the front of the player, and the disk continues to spin for a time after all is turned off! But I've checked several times, going back to look, and it does eventually turn off completely. I don't know why it does this, but it doesn't seem to be a problem, as it does finally go off.
