These are definitely capable of putting out what they claim, which is nice. I have some devices that charge at 2 or more amps but won't accept fast chargers for phones. Or the PD quick charge or whatever it's called. But these will work. These don't have varying voltage like the fast chargers for phones and laptops, just a standard 5 volts and 3 amps. I have a USB powered desk lamp that actually does take 2.6 amps on its highest setting and it won't work with fast chargers. My new rechargeable fingerprint door knob draws 2 amps when it charges and it won't work with fast chargers either. So these basic 5 volt chargers are good to have. These WILL work for devices that need less than 3 amps. They'll work perfectly fine for devices that only need .5 amps, or even .2 amps, like Bluetooth earbuds for example. The first review I saw said otherwise. A device will only draw what it needs. These chargers will not force 3 amps into every device you plug into it. That's ridiculous and it's bad info. These chargers will not put out 3 amps across all three USB ports at once. It will divide the 3 amps between whatever you have plugged in. Which was expected. So if you try to plug in two devices that both draw 2 amps, then they'll probably only get like 1.5 amps each. I don't know if it's a great idea to keep this charger maxed out like that. I would try to keep everything at or under 3 amps. A USB tester like the one in my photo comes in handy for situations like this. The Amazon description does say they have over heating and over current protection but I can't confirm that for a fact. What I can confirm for a fact is that they aren't UL listed or safety certified in any way. That doesn't mean they don't have protection circuitry it just means they might not because nobodies enforcing it. Personally, I'll be staying under 3 amps for my own peace of mind, but if you do plug in two cell phones at once, just make sure the charger doesn't get too hot. I just needed more chargers and all my old chargers were under 2 amps. I have too many things that use 2 amps so these are good and having 3 ports on one charger is pretty nice. Good deal, thanks. Given how inexpensive these devices are, I wasn’t expecting them to actually charge devices quickly and I am happy to say that I was so wrong about that. I compared this device’s charging capabilities to that of a $30 apple charging brick and to my surprise, it actually outperformed the apple charger. Granted, I tested two identical phones, but they were both at different starting batteries, which will make some difference and skew results slightly. This charger has 3 ports as well, and even with multiple devices connected, I find that charging is still very quick. Build quality is pretty cheap (feels light) which is to be expected at something around this price point, but works flawlessly. I ended up buying 2 more so I can have these things sitting everywhere I might need them. Read more

Bought this to replace a cheap oversized 4-USB charging block at my bedside that was falling apart. Comes with two so I took the other one to work to charge my phone and iPad in the place of two separate USB chargers. Very compact, takes up same space on the power strip as a single USB charger.
