I read other reviews about it being hard to assemble and I groaned because I'm terrible at even following direction but I tried. I noticed right away the screws were really hard to screw in, decided perhaps I was putting them in the wrong way, and sure enough, they went in just fine when I put them on the correct side. So other than some initial confusion about which side was the side they enter on, I had no trouble putting it together by myself in about 5 minutes. It is good solid teak wood, looks great and will last. It's too tall for where I wanted it but that is my fault for not measuring appropriately. Read more

Teak is supposed to be dense and sturdy. This looks and feels cheap and lightweight. Also - it is stained and sealed with a hard polyurethane spray - covering up the traditional natural raw teak finish (it it even is teak wood.) At the price (>$80) this is a rip off. You could do better at Target for half the price. Read more
I am not sure how this shelf received any 5 star reviews, that is being super generous. I will say I had just assembled a teak bench prior to assembling this shelf, and I was amazed at the difference in quality between the two items. I thought the bench was made well and was very sturdy, so I expected the same from this item. Sadly, I was wrong. This shelf, although it has a very nice color to it and it is lovely, it has a very thin frame and the slats on the shelves are thin. I got a splinter in my finger putting this together and I know this isn’t going to last long. It will serve the purpose that I bought it for, it just will be thrown away in a few years time.
