Teatsy review

I really enjoy cooking with Uvelka Buckwheat Groats Extra. The grains are clean, cook evenly, and come out fluffy with a nice nutty flavor. It’s quick to prepare and works perfectly as a healthy side dish or base for different meals. I love that the quality is consistent every time I buy it. Read more

Satisfied Customer So Happy He Reveals His Mother's Porridge Recipe.

Kindle CustomerOctober 12, 2025

I grew up on rolled oat porridge. However, after I turned 60 I switched to wheat groats as they seemed to be more substantial. However, I am now over 80 years old and my stomach started to complain after breakfast. Since many seem to avoid gluten, I tried buckwheat groats. They were quite tasty. Alas the only buckwheat groats I could find were from a specialty miller, very expensive and not always available. These Uvelka groats are considerably cheaper than other brands. I was suspicious at first. However, after eating them for six months they have proved to be as good or better than the high priced buckwheat. My recipe is: 1/3 cup of raw buckwheat groats rinsed and added to 2/3 cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil, cover and turn heat to a simmer. When the water is absorbed, 15-20 minutes or so, remove from heat and let rest covered for 10 minutes. Check groats are soft or replace cover and wait some more. When done fluff with a fork. Optionally serve with chopped fruit, maple syrup or honey to taste, Read more

packaging seems to be a problem with this seller

GJLOctober 25, 2024

The product arrived with damaged packaging; both the original bag and the protective cover were busted, causing the buckwheat to spill inside the Amazon envelope. Since returns aren't allowed for food items and I hate tossing food, I had to make do by thoroughly washing and soaking the buckwheat. Unfortunately, besides the packaging error, I found that the product contained a lot of husk and other bits, which required extra effort to clean. While this is a cheaper option compared to other brands on Amazon, the combination of damaged delivery, the time I spent cleaning, and the fact that it's not organic makes it less appealing. The only positive was that the darker kernels had a slightly richer flavor compared to lighter ones. Overall, I'd rather pay a bit more for a higher-quality product. Read more

Good value but with a brown husk that separates

shannon francesSeptember 12, 2025

These seem to be a different variety from the usual ones I get, which are BOB,s organic. They have a brown hull that separates from each kernel and a pronounced flavor. The others are mainly just beige, no hull. When cooked these resemble rice, an elongated shape. I’m more used to the others that sort have a congealed almost gelatinous style and a mild flavor. I primarily eat them as a porridge for breakfast with berries. I think this type would be a good grain for a dinner but not so much for breakfast. Also, they seem to be from Russia. Read more
