Sleek and extremely sturdy

Belts are not my friends. I like them. I need them. But they never seem to want to work with me. In the past I'm not sure I've ever had a belt that I felt fit properly. Either the buckle notches were spaces so the belt was either too tight or too loose. I've also had my share of belts that had an excess of material that was left flopping between my belt loops when buckled. If you know what I'm talking about, you understand this is not a look anyone would opt for. Given all this previous belt-drama, I decided to give this style a whirl. It seemed to have a few features to make it customizable, and that sounded like a great option. I wasn't sure I loved the style, but if I could finally own a belt that fit, I was willing to sacrifice some aesthetics. As it turned out I didn't need to worry. This belt is customization was extremely simple, and it's a good-looking functional accessory. I love the black faux buckle. It has a unique style to it that I find pretty chic. I was a little concerned it would be difficult to manipulate to get the belt on and off, but after a couple tries it was a breeze. And the nylon belt itself is muted and matte, so it doesn't look like anything other than a quality belt. The greatest thing, as I've mentioned, is the fit. You can adjust the belt's length at the buckle and at the end (as long as you're going for shorter). I needed about 3-4 inches removed for it to fit properly. I wasn't sure what I was going to use to saw through the sturdy nylon (kind of like a seat belt). I figured I'd start by trying the easiest thing I could think of, which was a pair of ordinary kitchen scissors. I really didn't think they would be able to penetrate through the tightly woven fabric, but they did! The cut right through with minimal effort and they didn't even fray the edge. (If you're concerned about a frayed edge, quickly sear the end with a lighter to melt the nylon slightly.) I wear this belt a lot. It totally works for me, and I'm so pleased with it. I hope this review helps other make the decision to give this product a try. Read more

Belt for all sizes and is built well

This belt is unique and built well. It has a stretchy bungee type belt material and a heavy metal buckle that has one way teeth that grab into the belt to hold it in place at any length. I felt the stretchy look that holds that excess belt is a bit cheap feeling and it can come off accidentally when not wearing the belt. I do think this belt isn’t the most stylish belt and should only be worn on outfits that are more towards the active wear like golfing. I do think the buckle is nice but the release level is only on one side and if you wear your belt going one way, it’ll be a little awkward with the non-dominant hand to release the lever. Overall is a good belt that holds your pants up well. Read more

Good-looking, sturdy belt; excellent for adjusting to the perfect length

SIZE (4/5). I ordered the 36-45". The belt itself (minus the buckle) is about 48". I'm a 36 and this extended a good 10" past the buckle. If you're at the upper end of the range, it may be a little tight. Width fits most belt loops without any problems. QUALITY (5/5). High quality materials and workmanship. Belt is light enough to be comfortable, yet the material is thick enough it won't tear or fall apart. Slides smoothly and holds securely. COMFORT (5/5). Belt itself is lightweight, breathable and comfortable. The belt buckle is solid and slightly heavier than standard buckles. COLOR/STYLE (5/5). Looks nice, but more for casual or nice-casual wear; might not be appropriate for semi-formal or business-wear. I really like the faux prong that makes it "look" like a normal belt, but without having to mess with odd-spaced holes. EASE OF USE (4/5). Easy to put on, can be a little tricky to undo if you're not used to this style. The release switch is small, can be a little stiff to operate, and can be difficult to find quickly. I personally haven't had issues with it opening, but I can see how others might. I dislike the elastic band - it just gets in the way and is a pain to feed the end of the belt through. If you have belt loops on your pants/shorts, you're probably better off just removing it. Read more

Great Style, Loose Buckle

Excellent styling, but not in terms of functionality. The belt becomes loose and slips about 3-4" when sitting down or bending over (see photo for the marks the teeth left on the belt from slipping). I love the black on black style and the sleek texture, but the buckle teeth don't hold the belt tight enough, ridding its purpose. 3-Stars because I still wear it, I just have to tighten it very often. Slips, feels very cheap. There are better ratcheting belts out there.

So I have several ratchetable belts at this point. And this is the first belt I have ever had that has slipped. I have a hard time getting it to lock into place. The little lever that you pull to release doesn't seem to want to cinch against the belt and it'll slide around until you really push it into place. Most of the time just the fact that you're pulling on a ratchetable belt cinches the lever into place, not this little guy. So be prepared to fumble around with it. Once you get it locked in it does the job just fine. It is stretchy, and it holds my pants up once the lover locks into place. If I had to pay more than $3 for this thing I would say it's too much. It feels cheap and barely gets the job done. I would say the price they are asking is a bit much for the quality of belt you're getting. I probably will donate this to Goodwill. I don't see myself using it on a regular basis. Read more
