I wanted a butter and cheese knife without embellishments to match the silverware I use everyday. These are casual but classy. The petite handle allows several knives to be in a charcuterie board without looking ridiculous. The smaller size also allows one to rest on a butter dish without hanging off the sides. These things are SHARPER than I thought. So don’t treat them like a toddler set. The stainless steel has a matte finish which makes it easy to buff off any water stains and returns the knives to a like-new condition. These look really nice and I like that they are on the small size - longer ones would tend to tip out of small jars or bowls. But because they are smaller, they are a tiny bit harder to hold. The bulbous handle does make it a little easier to grasp, though, and it fits well in your hand. They have washed well in the dishwasher thus far, but if you have a plastic insert with individual spaces for silverware, these do not fit as the blade is quite wide (we have a third rack and I lay mine in there). I bought these for my wife, she has small hands and is always adding butter to different types of bread. They work fine for that purpose but if you wash them in the dishwasher, they will show rust on the blades. Read more
