This is my "go to" 9mm Filter, absolute Top Quality, good fit, doesn't affect flavour. My preference is to use a New Filter every time, but there have been instances due to necessity that I reused a Filter and it was acceptable, even good. As I got a little older I find that I'm sensitive to nicotine. I can't stand getting dizzy. Nicotine also increases blood pressure. The tars aren't good for you either. The moisture and steam can cause tongue and mouth burn. These stop all of that, and I do not notice any decrease in flavor. They also prevent the tobacco and ash from coming up the stem and into your mouth. I never noticed a draw problem either. I usually discard after each smoke and they're cheap enough to go fresh every time. I can't think of any good reason to not use them. Now I only buy pipes that can take a 9mm filter. I even bought a box of the 6mm ones for my Savinelli that takes the smaller size. Read more

I have been using this product for near 12 years and one makes the best active charcoal filters hands down. The pellets inside are small, allowing for more of them, in order to remove even more tar. However, the new model changed things and seems to use ceramic on both ends. Up to last year, one end was a thin plastic mesh and the other side was a thicker ceramic this allows more number of pellets inside the filter. But switching to ceramic on both sides caused the number of the pellets to reduce and make the product overall less high quality. The filters and no flavor to the smoke of the pipe. The filter does help with tongue bite. They work just as suggested. The filters last 3 pipes with a wet blend, which I smoke the most. I do have normal non wet tobacco and it lasts about 5 sessions before needing to be changed. I recommend this to all pipe smokers! Read more
