I could not be happier. I've been using a TV tray as my computer desk for far too long, and it got a little ridiculous. The dog chewed up the legs and corners, and it was starting to fall apart, but I didn't want to buy a desk until he was done with his chewing phase. Well, we're finally past that, and I'm a lot more confident that I can buy new furniture without it being destroyed than I was, so I went desk hunting for a reasonably-priced breakaway desk that I could fold up and put away when I needed the space for company. This fit the bill to a T. And I'm SO happy! The base is solid metal, the supports are heavier-duty and sturdier than they look, it was super easy - if just a tad finicky - to assemble, the desktop is super durable, heavy-duty plastic, and the whole thing is absolutely beautiful. POA, though, don't try to lift the desk by its top, since the top is held on by pressure clips and not by screws or clamps of any kind. Lift the desk by its metal base. You can get a good handhold on the base from the sides where the base meets the top. This took me just a little bit of getting used to when moving the desk around in its space. Oh, and this thing is a very night weight! It's not so heavy that a wimp like me can't move it around, but it's not so light that it feels like a stiff wind will blow it over, either. Perfect! It was weird not having to read instructions, this is the simplest solution for a desk. Once you take it out of the box it's self explanatory. The top just clicks on to the base with 4 plastic connectors onto the 2 metal bars. Just be kinda gentle when you want to take it off in the future. The 4 screws for the side storage are already connected but loose enough to remove without tools. Incase like me you want to switch it to the other side. This is perfect for saving space. This was the perfect size to transport and work. There is enough space for a laptop and note books, a lamp and phone. I work remotely so this is ideal for when I travel to visit family and can still work. It’s sturdy, very easy set up and functional. Great purchase. No regrets Read more

If you need this to fold away, it will but other desk do it MUCH better. You have to remove the top and store 2 seperate pieces rather than having the desk fold into itself. It works but if youre primarily getting this for space saving and will be storing often - other desks do it better and this isnt worth it. Also, the 'wood grain' is unfortunatly a textured plastic - not a smooth surface. If you use paper directly ontop of it, you will get distorted lines. Will work with padded writing like a notebook, but will cause headaches if youre using a single piece of paper directly on the surface. Finally the side storage, while a nice bonus, is pretty ineffective for anything beyond light notebooks or pens/paper. If you want to store text books in it , be prepared for it to rip and tear over time. Is it a terrible desk? Nah, it works decent - but for the price range and the 'folding' claim? There are better, more affordable options. It is serviceable and thats about it. Read more
