I recently purchased the Prostorm Windproof Vented Travel Umbrella for myself and a family member, and I have been thoroughly impressed with its performance. This umbrella truly lives up to its windproof claim and has become an essential item for any outdoor activity. The standout feature of the Prostorm umbrella is its exceptional windproof design. The vented canopy allows wind to pass through, preventing the umbrella from flipping inside out during strong gusts. I have used this umbrella during heavy rain and windy conditions, and it has held up remarkably well, providing reliable protection from the elements. The windproof feature gives me peace of mind, knowing that the umbrella will not fail when I need it the most. In addition to its windproof capabilities, the Prostorm umbrella is incredibly easy to use. The automatic open and close mechanism allows for quick deployment and convenient storage. This feature has been particularly useful when I need to quickly seek shelter from unexpected rain or wind. The ergonomic handle provides a comfortable grip, and the compact size makes it ideal for travel and daily use. The overall build quality of the Prostorm umbrella is impressive, and it has proven to be durable and long-lasting. The materials used are of high quality, and the construction feels sturdy and reliable. The canopy size is generous enough to provide ample coverage while remaining portable and lightweight. I highly recommend this umbrella to anyone in need of a reliable, durable, and user-friendly solution for staying dry and protected in challenging weather conditions. Whether for personal use or as a thoughtful gift, the Prostorm umbrella is an excellent choice for those seeking a high-quality travel accessory. Read more

I bought this umbrella and was very pleased with the quality that I ended up purchasing two more. The size is great and it fits perfectly in the side pocket of my backpack. It’s not heavy nor bulky and has held up pretty well against the wind. Read more

I hope this will be a long-lasting umbrella, but having just received it yesterday, there are two things I'm disappointed about: #1 the color is not at all what is shown here which is a pleasant medium blue color. In reality, it's just a regular dark navy blue. I had hoped that it would look as shown online and stand out from others' black and navy umbrellas. I'm not a fan of red, but I probably would have ordered red if I had known. #2 is that the strap is a big disappointment. I have a small hand and wrist and can manage to get my hand into it, but there's no way my husband could. But it's so insubstantial that it's not comfortable having a somewhat heavy umbrella hanging from my wrist. Attached photo shows how it digs into my wrist a bit (and the navy color). If I had a coat on, I'm not sure it would even fit. The umbrella seems well made otherwise, so why did they cheap out on the strap so much? If I could find a way to do it, I'd add my own strap or find a way to bulk this one up. I forgot that it can close with a click, so pay attention to that. I kept trying to force it to close by pulling down on the inner mechanism, but I just didn't have the strength for it. Figured I would have to send it back because of that, but then I saw the tag on the included sleeve that said to press to open and close. Yay. The umbrella top snaps shut, then you can press it from the top of the rod back down to the handle--be sure to press hard enough to get the click, otherwise it won't work. I thought my husband had broken it when he did that as it seemed closed, but then it wouldn't open again. We just had to press it further down, get the "CLICK," and then it worked properly. If I could give this a 3.5, I would, but I'm rounding up in the hopes that it will be a good umbrella in a downpour. Read more

Yes, this umbrella is a little heavier than the automatic Totes umbrella (17 ounces vs.13 ounces) but I think it will pay off in sturdiness. The vent will be helpful in strong winds and the deeper arc will help with heavy rain. The arc on this umbrella is 46" whereas the Totes is 42". I compared the other measurements as well: this umbrella is 12 " closed and the center pole opened is 21 1/4" long whereas the Totes is 11' closed and has a 17 1/2" center pole. Both handles are about the same- 2 1/2" and 2 1/4" respectively. The one area in which the Prostorm umbrella could be improved is the velcro strap. The Totes strap is about an inch longer and an inch wider which makes it super easy for one handed wrapping. The longer and thinner strap on the Prostorm tends to get twisted and requires a second hand to wrap it. Overall, an excellent umbrella. ***UPDATED REVIEW***I wrote the review above before using it. IT BROKE WITHIN 5 MONTHS OF PURCHASE. THE SECOND ONE BROKE AFTER ONE USE. The auto-open button wouldn't press so the umbrella would not open. I've never had an automatic umbrella just up and stop working so I only thought I would need to review the features, not whether or not it would continue to work. Too bad because it had a lot of good features, but not the most important one- it needs to work! Guess I'll go back to TOTES. Read more

Great quality for the price! It's small, light, and I keep it in my backpack for when the rain catches me walking around. I have tested its wind resistance, and it holds up pretty well to summer rains in southern Florida. Read more
